In typical English weather fashion,
the Victoriana garden party had no
choice but to move indoors when it
started raining. But nonetheless, the
party went on with tea, coffee and a
wonderful collection of cakes made
by our talented cooks. Friends and
family came and enjoyed a raffle
with a selection of prizes.
Thank you to everyone that came
and to the staff for all their hard
work!
Residents enjoyed a traditional English tea party in the
garden, complete with cream and jam scones! We discussed
the origins of St George, what we liked best about England
and old English traditions. We also tested our knowledge of
traditional English proverbs and recalled over 40! It was a
lovely afternoon in the sunshine.
The Edwardian and Victoriana were transformed into a summer
paradise for the day! We enjoyed Mocktails and gentle exercise using a
beach ball!
We all put on our favourite summer clothes for a small donation
towards activities.
A very big thank you to all those who
donated towards our raffle; E.Sidwell,
Abacus, Cloisters, Holloway meats,
Thomas Ridley, Super fight series and the
B&Q café.
Residents from the Georgiana enjoy a weekly tour around
Bedfordshire with our activity coordinator and volunteer. Each
tour is different and explores the beautiful scenery our county
has to offer. This week, we went to Woburn and saw all the
wonderful flowers in preparation for the Woburn flower
show. We also drove through the deer park and spotted the
dear relaxing by the water on a hot day. Afterwards we
stopped for ice-cream. The whole afternoon was lovely and
everyone enjoyed themselves.
We’ve got plenty of activities coming up in each home which everyone is welcome to
participate in. For more detailed day to day schedule please see the weekly planners
on the activity boards.
