FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Invisible Theatre continues its 45th Anniversary Season
with the Arizona Premiere of
SANGER
ONE WOMAN, ONE STORY
By and starring
Pamela Daly
November 12 – 15, 2015
(October 23, 2015, Tucson, Arizona); IT continues its 45th anniversary season with
SANGER: ONE WOMAN, ONE STORY by and starring Pamela Daly who portrays one of the
most influential women in American history, Margaret Sanger, the Founder of Planned
Parenthood. Celebrated and vilified, her legacy has drawn admiration and disdain from opposing
sides on controversial issues. This one-woman play is entirely in Sanger’s own words, with Daly
assuming the roles of over 60 unique characters throughout. “Sanger” hits the topics of Abortion,
Birth Control, Sex, Eugenics, and The Plight of Women head on. Surprising to many, she spoke
against abortion her entire life. This Woman Rebel shakes the foundations of America through
two World Wars, leaving a network of clinics beginning in 1916 and the Pill in 1957. The Left and
the Right have defined her to fit agendas – now you will hear from her.
“Actress Pamela Daly is spectacular as Sanger.”

ABOUT PAMELA DALY
Pamela Daly, veteran of stage and screen, is a fierce and raw leading lady,
distinguished by her range, personal connection, unpredictable choices,
extensive dialect skills, (16 and counting), and performance physicality.
In Pamela’s Critically acclaimed One-woman play, SANGER: ONE WOMAN,
ONE STORY, Pamela plays women’s rights activist and controversial
Historical figure, Margaret Sanger, in addition to 60 plus other characters, in
a 2-hour Stage Actor’s Marathon. She takes the audience from blubbering to
Belly Laughs, and everything in between, in the spirit of fellow solo artists Lily
Tomlin and Patrick Stewart. Pamela is “a chameleon” and has garnered
significant reviews from critics and theatre enthusiasts alike, giving such
praise as, “actress Pamela Daly is spectacular as Sanger. She commands
her stage, transforming herself into a plethora of characters with the seamless precision and comedic
timing reminiscent to that of fellow brilliant impressionist Robin Williams (RIP).” She has performed
around the country in such prestigious venues as the El Portal Theatre, North Hollywood, CA, and the
internationally renowned Aronoff Center for the Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Look for Pamela to star in the upcoming Comic-Con Fan film RS Rising, double cast as Lovanna, kind
and heroic mother of Red Sonja, and Scrathatche, the iconic, powerful and evil Goddess of Vengeance.
Also look for Pamela next year in a supporting role in the feature film The Downside of Bliss with Judd
Nelson and Kay Lenz. Pamela plays younger sister opposite Kay Lenz. Pamela will be shooting a
feature film in Ohio starting in 2016, Chance, where she plays the mother of a young suicide victim, a
true story that took place in her hometown. Past films include Beyond the Mat, Lily, Music Therapy,
Inside, Processing Days, Alberto’s Choice, Fuel, My Father’s Brownies, and a trailer for Jason Blackwell.

working with the “Greats” in her commercial for Aviva with Ringo Starr, Macaulay Culkin, Bruce Willis,
Lucy Liu, Cindy Crawford, and more.

ABOUT MARGARET SANGER
Margaret Higgins Sanger (born Margaret Louise Higgins, September 14,1879
- September 6, 1966, also known as Margaret Sanger Slee) was an
American birth control activist, sex educator, writer, and nurse. Sanger
popularized the term "birth control", opened the first birth control clinic in the
United States, and established organizations that evolved into the Planned
Parenthood Federation of America.
Margaret Sanger used her writings and speeches primarily to promote her
way of thinking. She was prosecuted for her book Family Limitation under the
Comstock Act in 1914. She was afraid of what would happen, so she fled to
Britain until she knew it was safe to return to the US. Sanger's efforts
contributed to several judicial cases that helped legalize contraception in the United States. Due to her
connection with Planned Parenthood Sanger is a frequent target of criticism by opponents of abortion.
Sanger, who has been criticized for supporting negative eugenics, remains a recognizable figure in the
American reproductive rights movement.
In 1916, Sanger opened the first birth control clinic in the United States, which led to her arrest for
distributing information on contraception. Her subsequent trial and appeal generated controversy.
Sanger felt that in order for women to have a more equal footing in society and to lead healthier lives,
they needed to be able to determine when to bear children. She also wanted to prevent unsafe
abortions, so-called back-alley abortions, which were common at the time because abortions were
usually illegal. She believed that while abortion was sometimes justified it should generally be avoided,
and she considered contraception the only practical way to avoid the use of abortions.
In 1921, Sanger founded the American Birth Control League, which later became the Planned
Parenthood Federation of America. In New York City, she organized the first birth control clinic staffed
by all-female doctors, as well as a clinic in Harlem with an entirely African-American staff. In 1929, she
formed the National Committee on Federal Legislation for Birth Control, which served as the focal point
of her lobbying efforts to legalize contraception in the United States. From 1952 to 1959, Sanger served
as president of the International Planned Parenthood Federation. She died in 1966, in a nursing home in
Tucson, Arizona. Across the nation, there are numerous women’s health clinics that carry the Sanger
name – in remembrance of her efforts to advance women’s rights and the birth control movement.
