Dear Friends
I recently took an acupuncture course form Dr Chen. It pertains especially to Sports Injuries, and all musculo-skeletal
injuries. I am excited to say that it is a very successful technique. So call me if you have more questions, or to schedule an
appointment.
In health and Joy,
Sports Injuries &
Muscle Channel Technique
What is Muscle Channel Technique?
Muscle Channel Technique (MCT) is a unique style of acupuncture in which needles are inserted at access and anchor points
along 12 regular muscle channels to correct pathology and restore
health.
It differs from regular acupuncture in that it uses muscle
channels and not the organ channels normally used in acupuncture.
The chosen point will be mostly on the ankles, knees, elbows and
wrists. Some neddles will be inserted perpendicularly, others horizontally. Electricity will be hooked on the needles, and left for 20
mns. Some of the needles will be retained for longer period to provide constant Qi arrival and maximize the therapeutic effect.
The needles send Qi and blood to open the blockage and
nourish the injured tissues, joints or organs which lack circulation.
Sometimes the patient will go home with a needle taped to the
limb.
This techique is extremely effective in treating sports
injuries, injuries of the upper and lower extremities and spinal
problems:
Stiff neck, whiplash injury, TMJ, arthritis of the fingers, tendonitis, shoulder problems, tennis or golfer’elbow, carpal tunnel
syndrome, early stages of trigger finger, finger dislocation, post-surgical reductions, spinal problems, hips, knee pain, post knee surgery, ankle sprains, shin splints, plantar fasciatis, achilles tendonitis,
inguinal hernia, sciatica, foot problems are some of the problems
treated with this amazing technique.

How Does Acupuncture Works ?
The ancient Chinese believed that there is a universal
life energy called Chi or Qi present in every living
creature.
Do Your Children Suffer
From Allergies ?
I now offer pediatric formulae for:
Allergy, Colds, Colic and night crying, Earaches.
Raynaud’s Disease
Raynaud’s disease is a spasming of the arterioles in the fingers
and the toes with intermittent pale, darkening or redening of
the skin. It mostly affects women, and the attacks range from
minutes to several hours. The fingers and/or toes will become
extremely cold and at times painful.
In Western medicine, the treatment will vary with the underlying
condition: reuhmatoid arthritis or systemic lupus erythmatosus.
If of emotional causes, the treatment will consist of biofeedback
training or mild sedatives. Exposure to cold, and vasoconstrictors (such as nicotine) should be avoided.
This energy is said to circulate throughout the body
along specific pathways that are called meridians.
As long as this energy flows freely throughout the
meridians, health is maintained, but once the flow of
energy is blocked, the system is disrupted and pain
and illness occur.
Acupuncture works to regulate and restore normal
functions by stimulating certain points on the meridians in order to free up the Chi energy. Depending
on the diagnosis, the energy is unblocked, re-directed, strenghtened, or calmed down.
CUPPING
Fire Cupping is a method of stimulating acupuncture points by
applying suction through a glass jar, in which a partial vacuum
has been created. This technique produces blood congestion at
the site, and therefore stimulates it.
The therapy is used to relieve what is called “stagnation” in
TCM terms, and is used in the treatment of respiratory diseases
such as the common cold, pneumonia, and bronchitis. Cupping is also used to treat neck, shoulder, low backache, sprains
and other musculoskeletal and soft tissue injuries. Cupping
also helps relieve fluid from the lungs in chronic bronchitis.
In Chinese Medicine, it is seen as a blockage of the blood
flow, and is treated considering the cause “root” of the blockage. These causes can range from “Blood deficiency”, “Yand
Deficiency”, “Qi Deficiency”: there is not enough Blood, or Qi
or Yang to nourish the fingers. In addition, “Wind, cold, Damp
evils” can contribute. Emotions and a diet of alcohol, hot/fatty/
greasy foods will precipitate the problem.
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicinals can nourish and unblock
the energy channels and arteries, so that blood warms the fingers
again.

NAPA VALLEY ACUPUNCTURE
What is it ?
Facial Renewal Acupuncture is a safe and ancient, non-surgical way
of promoting “Healthy Aging”.
It is a journey which involves the Body, Mind and spirit as a whole.
>>
Oriental Perspective of Beauty
In the ancient texts, a beautiful face was defined as a “clear face
which reflects the Shen or Spirit”. It has color, radiance and expression.
How Does It Work ?
Fine needles are placed on acupuncture points on the face and neck
to stimulate the body’s Qi, or energy.
Muscle groups are addressed as well as the acupuncture points, so
the face lifts itself, via the acupuncture points, through the muscles’
toning and tightening action.
The needles also stimulate blood and circulation, which improves
facial color.
Is Facial Acupuncture For Everyone ?
Contraindicated for:
• Severe HTN not under control with meds.
• Severe recurrent migraines.
• 3 weeks after laser resurfacing of the face, 1 week after microdermabrasion, 6 months after surgical face-lift.
How Long Is The Treatment ?
• Usually 10-12 treatments.
• 1 time a week for 90 mns.
• Then, every 2 weeks for 2 months, then once a month.
The Use Of Chinese Herbs
The treatments incorporate Chinese herbal masks,
poultices and moisturizersJade rollers to massage moisturizer into the
skin.
Short & Long Term Effects of Facial Acupuncture
After the first treatment, there usually will be an increased glow
to the complexion. Wrinkles start to lessen and the skin appears more
toned.
Around the 5th to 7th session, there will be significant changes in
the appearance of the face. The impression of relaxation and calm is
more pronounced.
PRICE CHANGE
By the end of a series, the client should look and
feel 5-15 years younger.
Non-invasive, facial acupuncture is based on the ancient Chinese
wisdom on longevity, beauty and balance. It is less costly than surgical procedures.
