Lesson Goal
Students will be able to explain how the 13 colonies matured and develop over time. Students will be
able to explain the causes and social, economic, and political impacts of the French and Indian War.
Students will be able to explain how the notions of the Enlightenment and the first Great Awakening
impacted the worldview of the early Colonists and the future formation of the United States. Likewise,
students will be able to reference these events and occurrences for future lessons to understand how
they impacted the American Revolution.
