Vice-President, Internal Affairs Job Description Title of Position Vice-President, Internal Affairs Portfolio Executive Council Services Summary The VP Internal is responsible for liaising with the administration at Sauder in addition to managing the student space and student interactions with the administration. Time Commitment Approximately 15-20 hours per week Term of Employment May 2014 – May 2015 Main Responsibilities Associate Vice-President, Internal Affairs Awards Night and Recognitions Business Week Elections JDC West Sustainability The Vice-President, Internal Affairs, is responsible for: Liaise with Classroom Services and the UBC Administration Liaise with Sauder Tech services Responsible for Sauder’s locker system and business card orders Responsible for student space and its use and maintenance, include membership of the Building Users Committee. Recruit, select, and manage a team of portfolio members Provide support and guidance for CUS clubs and manage club administrative duties All members of the Executive Council are responsible for: Holding weekly office hours. Attending weekly Executive Council meetings and monthly Board of Directors meetings. Qualifications Anticipated Learning Outcomes Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills Ability to manage a diverse team and delegate Adaptive to new and changing environments Professional written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Professionalism to communicate with the faculty and administration of Sauder and UBC Quick email correspondence Conflict management skills The VP Internal should expect to gain a hands-on experience in an influential leadership and strategic role in the CUS to further promote academic excellence at Sauder.
