Required Permits and Licenses.

Required Permits and Licenses. Persons hunting and in possession of a hunting device while on
the Eglin reservation are required to have appropriate Eglin, state, and federal license, stamps and

Children under the age of 16 may hunt with an adult (18 years of age or older) who has a valid
Eglin Hunting Permit. Exception: a Youth Hunt Weekend Permit is required for youth hunters (6-15
years of age) to participate in the 9-10 January special weekend hunt.
All hunters (16 years of age and older) must purchase a valid Eglin Hunting Permit. Hunters born
on or after 1 June 1975 must complete a state’s Hunter Safety Course or hunt under the
supervision of a licensed hunter (21 years of age or older).
Hunter Safety Course. Anyone born on or after 1 June 1975 must complete a hunter safety course
before purchasing a hunting license enabling them to hunt without supervision. Children under the
age of 16 may hunt with adult supervision without having to take a hunter safety course. Persons 16
and older who have not completed a hunter safety course can use a Mentoring Exemption enabling
them to purchase a license and hunt with the supervision of a mentoring adult who is at least 21
years of age. Persons needing proof of course completion can print a duplicate certification card at:
