Susie Duecker (Alice) Susie is thrilled to be making her Renaissance Theaterworks debut in THE DROWNING GIRLS! Originally from New Berlin, she graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama, and has been performing in New York and Wisconsin ever since. Although she has done commercials, TV, and film, her The Drowning Girls 3 BIOGR APHIES c o n t. passion is still theater, and some of her favorite credits include Rosalind in AS YOU LIKE IT, Anne Elliot in Jane Austen’s PERSUASION, Eliza Dolittle in MY FAIR LADY, and Ado Annie in OKLAHOMA! Elyse Edelman (Bessie) Elyse is thrilled to make her Renaissance Theaterworks debut! As an actor in Wisconsin, she has worked with Forward Theater Company, American Players Theatre, Door Shakespeare, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and Luminous Theatre. She is grateful for a relationship with First Stage which has given her opportunities as an actor, teacher, and headmaster. Ross~ (Scenic Design) Sarah is a freelance scenic, costumes, and properties designer based in Chicago and has worked with American Blues Theater, Paramount Theatre, The Second City, The Joffrey Ballet, Shattered Globe, 16th Street Theater, Writers’ Theatre, Theater Wit, and Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Regionally, she has designed scenery for Peninsula Players Theater, TheaterSquared, Helen Hocker Theater, and Summer Studio Theater Company. She received a Jeff Award for costume design for TOBACCO 4 Renaissance Theaterworks ROAD (American Blues Theater) and several nominations for scenic and puppet designs. Sarah is the Production Manager at American Blues Theater. She is a proud member of Local USA 829 and the Society of Properties Artisans Managers. Madelyn Yee (Prop Designer) Madelyn absolutely loves working with the women of Renaissance Theatreworks and the talented production teams they always find. Currently residing in Milwaukee, she is a freelance designer and props artisan with a degree in Theatre Arts from Marquette University. In all, he has worked in various capacities on over thirty Renaissance productions in the last twenty years. Anthony is also technical director for Wild Space Dance Company and Luminous Theatre. Anthony has worked for Alverno Presents, Skylight Music Theatre, Milwaukee Chamber Theatre, and Bialystock & Bloom (R.I.P.). In a parallel universe, Anthony is a partner in a small custom carpentry firm. Suzan Fete (Artistic Director) Suzan co-founded Renaissance Theaterworks in 1993. A graduate of University of Illinois, Suzan has over 25 years of experience as an actor, director, and producer in professional theater. Favorite directing projects for Renaissance Theaterworks include TOPDOG/UNDERDOG, THE SHAPE OF THINGS, BLACKBIRD, NEAT, THE ROAD TO MECCA and THE BELLE OF AMHERST. Suzan was thrilled to bring the production of NEAT by Charlayne Woodard to Port Elizabeth South Africa in June 2013, as part of RTW’s storyTravelling project- an international theatrical collaboration. Suzan lives happily in Wauwatosa with her husband Jeff and son Matthew. Julie Swenson* (Producing Director) Julie became Renaissance Theaterworks’ Producing Director in 2001 having served on the Board of Directors since 1997. She received a BA in theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. She became a proud member of the Actors’ Equity Association in 1986 while working in New York City. Lisa Rasmussen (Development Director) Lisa started as Renaissance Theaterworks’ Development Director with excitement in the summer of 2008. Recent experience includes stage management for ComedySportz-Milwaukee and more than five years in marketing. Lisa received her BA in Theater and Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University in 2003. Lisa is a member of The Association of Fundraising Professionals. She loves living in Bay View with husband Jake and daughter Anna. Kat Tow (Marketing & PR Director) Kat joined Renaissance Theaterworks as Marketing & PR Director in 2014.
