FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
Volume 31.
JESUS SAID TO HIS DISCIPLES: ‘DO NOT LET
YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED. TRUST IN GOD
STILL, AND TRUST IN ME. THERE ARE MANY
ROOMS IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE; IF THERE WERE
NOT, I SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU. I AM GOING
NOW TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU, AND
AFTER I HAVE GONE AND PREPARED YOU A
PLACE, I SHALL RETURN TO TAKE YOU WITH ME;
SO THAT WHERE I AM YOU MAY BE TOO. YOU
KNOW THE WAY TO THE PLACE WHERE I AM GOING.’ THOMAS SAID, ‘LORD, WE DO NOT KNOW
WHERE YOU ARE GOING, SO HOW CAN WE
KNOW THE WAY? JESUS SAID: I AM THE WAY,
THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. . IF YOU KNOW ME,
YOU KNOW MY FATHER TOO. PHILIP SAID,
‘LORD LET ME SEE THE FATHER AND THEN WE
SHALL BE SATISFIED.’ HAVE I BEEN WITH YOU
ALL THIS TIME, PHILIP’ SAID JESUS TO HIM ‘ AND
YOU STILL DO NOT KNOW ME?

TWO ROADS DIVERGED IN A YELLOW WOOD,
AND SORRY I COULD NOT TRAVEL BOTH
AND BE ONE TRAVELER, LONG I STOOD
AND LOOKED DOWN ONE AS FAR AS I COULD
TO WHERE IT BENT IN THE UNDERGROWTH;
AND BOTH THAT MORNING EQUALLY LAY
IN LEAVES NO STEP HAD TRODDEN BLACK.
OH, I KEPT THE FIRST FOR ANOTHER DAY!
YET KNOWING HOW WAY LEADS ON TO WAY,
I DOUBTED IF I SHOULD EVER COME BACK.
I SHALL BE TELLING THIS WITH A SIGH
SOMEWHERE AGES AND AGES HENCE:
TWO ROADS DIVERGED IN A WOOD AND I ___
I TOOK THE ONE LESS TRAVELLED BY,
AND THAT HAS MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

BAYSIDE MISSIONARY PROJECT: Bayside Missionary Project would
like to thank you sincerely for supporting our Church Gate Collection
on Sunday, 30th April. We received a bequest of €1,000, a donation of
€1000 and €2,742 in cash bringing the total sent to South Sudan to
€4,742. Fr. John sent a message as follows - “We have 500 displaced
families in the parish here. Added to that the army raided the food
stocks of settled people in surrounding villages, so food shortages
are everywhere around us. The idea is that we help them to keep going until they can harvest food again. The rains have just started. I
appreciate the effort from all in Bayside and will use the money in a
frugal manner. I will sent updates of the different feeding programmes
when I can. Many thanks and Blessings to all”.
Fr. John also provides pastoral care to a nearby UN camp, home to
38,000 people displaced by war and famine. The people in the camp
are housed and fed by the UN but they appreciated having the
Easter Ceremonies in little chapels they rigged up themselves around
the camp. Easter was greeted with joy and vigour despite the circumstances in which people find themselves.
SO THANK YOU ALL, DONORS AND HELPERS FOR
YOUR GENEROSITY. OUR FINAL COFFEE MORNING
BEFORE THE HOLS WILL BE ON JUNE 2NDJUNE
FROM 10.30A.M. IN THE COMMUNITY CENTRE.
