MANAGE D CARE Sounding the Alarm New Living Word Ministries Volume 6 Issue 3 Vision of NLWM To teach the believer how to live by faith To teach the believer how to experience the overcoming victorious life NLWM was established to teach the uncompromising Word of God and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to minister by precept and example, teaching the body of Christ to walk in victory and to adopt a lifestyle that is irreproachable. 2010 FROM THE PASTOR To win the lost Mission of NLWM March Pastor Jerry L. Baldwin “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13: 34-35 If we are to enjoy victorious kingdom living, we must learn how to love one another. The only way to have right relationship with people is to learn how to walk in love. To be successful in our love walk, we must learn the fundamentals of loving others. As kingdom citizens, our love for others should be as Christ love is to us. This new dimension of love separates us from the world. The fundamentals of loving others are as follows: 1. 2. 3. 4. Our love is base on our relationship with God. Our love is without reasons. Our love is without expectations. Our love is without manipulation. 5. Our love is without limitations. 6. Our love is regardless of situation. 7. Our love is without termination. 8. Our love has to put on. 9. Our love covers all wrongs. 10. Our love requires action. The most powerful force the world has ever known is that of love. The motivating force of everything in the kingdom is love. Everything that you need to turn around in your life can be turned around through loving others. Learn the fundamentals of loving others and activate the power of God in your life. The leadership officers for 2010 were introduced to more than 30 members. Andre' Stringfellow presided over the meeting and introduced the agenda items for the 2010 year. President Stringfellow reminded everyone that the Ushers have a tremendous responsibility of supporting the pastor and the overall mission of the Church by giving God our best at all times . With this in mind, he stated that our goal is to serve with Excellence. Other agenda items included uniforms, recruitment, fellowship activities, serving, nursing home project and training throughout the year. February was a great month for the Ushers. In addition to serving within the church walls, we got the opportunity to serve by reaching out to the local and international communities. We visited local nursing homes for Valentine’s Day, played bingo and gave the residents Valentine's gifts. Internationally, the Usher Ministry agreed to donate $100 to Unicef for the Haiti Relief Project. If you are interested in joining the Usher Ministry contact Andre’ Stringfellow. Volume 6 Issue 3 Page 2 PRISON MINISTRY By Tracy Williams Saturday, February 6th was a night to remember at the Jackson Correction Center in Jonesboro. The NLW Prison Ministry brought the Club Experience right into the jailhouse. The inmates were captivated by praise, locked-up in the worship, and shackled to the Holy Spirit. Minister Simon Flake served as the emcee. He stood at the “mic” breaking down the scriptures by sharing with them how Joseph went from a slave and prisoner to a prince. Minister of Music, Shelton Richardson and “Adoration” sung their soon to be gospel hit single “You’re Amazing” and many others like “Lets Get Back to Eden”. The spirit filled gospel rap group, The Holy Rollers hit them with some off the chain rap that got the brothers to their feet and EXP Divine Mime ministered through silent praise and movement. There was praise & worship going on in the place that had never been seen before in JCC. Although, some of the brothers may have been in lockup they were not locked in; they were imprisoned, but prison wasn’t in them. The inmates found freedom in the “Club Experience”. They praised and worshiped God in song and some really good “undignified” dancing. Pastor Baldwin imparted some words straight from God, and over 35 inmates came up during the alter call for salvation and to front slide from their backslidden conditions. Who said Believers can’t hit the club. OUTREACH MINISTRY By Alexes M. Toomes The Outreach Ministry kicked off the month of love by displaying God’s love to the Ruston community through our Friday night outreach services. We started with an encouraging message from ministry leader James Hardy. Throughout the remainder of the month we displayed love according to the word and will of God. In John 13:34-35, the word of God tells us that there exist a new commandment in which we are instructed to “love one another by this all men will know that you are my disciples.” Following this commandment is the goal of the Outreach Ministry. th On February 26 , we celebrated Black History Month with a dinner to commemorate the African-American culture. In doing so, members prepared food for the soul or “soul food” to hand out to the recipients. Opening the celebration was a word from Sister Bernadine Flake. She gave an outstanding message on “Choices”. The Outreach Ministry began providing transportation for its recipients to travel to Outreach and NLWM for Sunday services. Weekly, the Center experiences a turnout of people who come to receive the goods and services provided, yet, there is more to Outreach than being a spectator. The real benefits of Outreach exist in the word of God and his unconditional love, not in the food, groceries, and clothing provided. In conclusion, Brother Hardy marveled at the works of the Outreach staff and volunteers of NLWM. He stated that “words cannot express his gratitude”. He encourages ministers to get involved. Like previously stated by Brother Hardy, “outreach is an arm of the ministry that is vitally important to the body of Christ because it gives us the opportunity to demonstrate that we are a church without walls,” but hearts filled with God’s love. FOLLOW UP MINISTRY By Ayasha Combest The Follow-up Ministry began last January. Our mission is to reach out and spread the love of God and to encourage our brothers and sisters to continue in the faith. We contact past members living within a 30-mile radius, current members who have been absent, and new members once a month by telephone or e-mail. We tell them that we love them and are available to pray with them. The Follow-up Ministry is part of our charge as ministers of reconciliation.
