EUSD Eats a Rainbow!
Items to be offered on the salad bar and available to everyone who purchases a school
lunch
Monday – Red/Pink Day: Shredded Beets (fresh fruit of the day will be sliced apples)
Tuesday – Blue/Purple Day: Blueberries (blue berries are frozen, wild blueberries grown
in US – they will be thawed and served on salad bar and the fresh fruit will be sliced
oranges)
Wednesday – Green Day: Sliced Kiwi
Thursday – Yellow/Orange Day: Small Carrots (fresh fruit of the day will be sliced kiwi)
Friday – White/Brown Day: Cauliflower Florets (fresh fruit of the day will be tangerine
cuties)
Rainbow Week Sampling
Schools may wish to sample produce at their lunch. This will allow all students to try the
produce regardless of if the child purchases a school lunch. PTA will need to assign
volunteers and organize the sampling efforts as they see fit for their school. Items like
napkins, cups and/or tongs for sampling will be sent out with the samples and are
included in the cost. Produce must be ordered by Jan 21st. Produce will available to pick
up from the school kitchen 15 minutes prior to the start of lunch. If the produce is sent
in pans (see reverse) the pans must be returned by the end of the last lunch please.

Sliced Kiwi – unit is each pan (about 200 slices) – cost is $15 per pan
Small Carrots – unit is each 2 dozen bunches per box (about 150 carrots) – cost is $35 per box
Cauliflower Florets – unit is each 5 lb bag – cost is $18 per bag
Tangerine Cuties – unit is each case of about 160 cuties – cost is $38 per case
Sliced Oranges – unit is each pan (about 150 slices) – cost is $15 per pan
Sliced Apples – unit is each pan (about 125 slices) – cost is $15 per pan
