Meet the Crayfish
Focus Question: What structures do crayfish have? What are the
functions of those structures?
I predict that crayfish have eyes to see, legs to move, hands/snappers to grab stuff, and antenna to feel around. I predict Predictions:
that the pinchers are to pinch predators. I predict their tails are to make them move faster.
Materials: crayfish, container
Procedure: Observe a crayfish and identify its different
structures using the “Crayfish Structures” page. Label those
structures on the "Crayfish Diagram".
I learned that male and female crayfish are different. Claim: I claim that a female crayfish have 2 different structures than males.
Because female crayfish have an egg pore and long swimmerets, and Evidence: males have a modified swimmeret and short swimmerets. Also, males are usually bigger than females.
Conclusion: Crayfish have many different structures that each have its own function. Many structures are used to defend themselves.
