Mr. P’s Point
Anxiety can plague any one of
us at any time. Remember to
“let it go and let God.”
“Cast thy burden upon the
LORD, and he shall sustain thee:
he shall never suffer the righteous
to be moved.” Psalm 55:22

Mr. Russell’s Reflections
Christianity alone is based on verifiable historical
truth. The Bible states in
Romans 1:20 that no one
has any excuse for
disbelief in the one true
God, because God clearly
makes Himself known to
everyone through what He
has made (His creation).
This can be verified through the study of creation
using the tool of science. God also makes Himself
known through His Word, the Bible. He challenges
us to examine and test it. Each person is
responsible to investigate the Bible’s claims of
authenticity. Our eternal destiny depends upon it.

God is like a blacksmith
He files off our chains of sin
He makes us a strong foundation
He builds our lives like a blacksmith who builds tools
He uses a hammer to knock away our enemies
He protects us using a sword that he has made
He uses cold water to purify us
God is strong like a blacksmith who works all day
God uses his strong arms to guide me like a
blacksmith guides his tools
February 19, 2016 is Nat’l Chocolate Mint Day
Recognized by the US National
Confectioners Association, National
Chocolate Mint Day is observed
annually across the nation on
February 19th. This holiday has been
set aside for all the chocolate mint
lovers to eat their favorite treats all
day long. The Aztecs and Mayans are given much credit for
their ways with chocolate, and while chocolate was brought
back to Europeans, they were not fond of the dark, bitter
bean, and it was used more for medicinal purposes. As it was
mostly consumed as a hot beverage, Europeans mixed mint,
cinnamon and other spices to make it more palatable. Over
time, sugar was added and the combination of chocolate and
mint became fashionable. Fast forward to the mid-1800s
when inventions and improvements in processes made it
possible for confectioners to begin mass producing
chocolates. Even then, small candy shops served a local
public. Advertisements for mint chocolates, or chocolate
mints, did not start showing up in newspapers until the turn
of the century. Source: www.nationalcalendar.com

I have been at CVCS for two
years. I have been involved in
football, basketball, soccer and
baseball. One of my most
favorite memories is our first
ever football win! I have enjoyed
CVCS, and
I am so glad I
came.
