 Fort Lauderdale
Centre guide
Welcome to Fort Lauderdale, The United States’ favorite holiday destination. Millions of
people come to our small city every year to enjoy the gorgeous weather and beaches, along
with all the fun activities taking place both day and night.
Beautiful canals lined with stunning homes and yachts are everywhere, earning our city the
nickname “Venice of America”. Here you will find all the amenities of larger city but with a
warm and inviting small-town feel. The beach is never far away, but Miami, Key West,
Orlando, the Everglades, and so much more are also within easy reach.
Put on your shorts and sandals and say “ahhhhh…”—you’re in Fort Lauderdale!

City Information
The City
Fort Lauderdale is first and foremost a beach community, so if you love being in and around the water, this
place is for you: snorkel, kayak, jetski, kite surf, or just sunbathe; it’s all happening here. However, there is so
much more—get up close to alligators in the wild Everglades, head on down to unique Key West along the
stunning Overseas Highway, hang out with Mickey Mouse at Orlando’s Disney World, and shop till you drop
and the world-famous Sawgrass Mills discount mall. In Fort Lauderdale we know the good life!
The school is located in downtown Fort Lauderdale, within minutes of chic Las Olas Boulevard and the more
relaxed Himmarshee neighborhood. Both areas feature numerous restaurants, hot nightclubs, and great
people-watching. Two terrific museums are located next to the school: The Museum of Discovery and Science,
and the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art.
