If visiting CHSS by bus
Buses to The University of Kent run at regular intervals from Canterbury bus station and Canterbury East and West railway
stations. If you wish to catch a bus from the train station, take the Unibus or no. 26 bus to the Darwin College bus stop.
To catch the no. 26 bus from Canterbury West train station cross Station Road West and walk about 50 metres on the right
to the bus stop. To catch the more frequent Unibus from Canterbury West train station turn right out of the train station
and walk along to the end of Station Road West. Use the zebra crossing to cross to the bus stop on the opposite side of St
Dunstans Street and ask for Darwin College bus stop.
From Canterbury East train station turn right out of the station and walk to the bus stop at Rhodaus Town, catch the Unibus
and ask for Darwin College bus stop.
When you alight the bus at the Darwin College stop, you will see building work currently underway (a new extension to the
School of Social Policy) and you will have to walk around the old car park with the boarding on your right until you see a
blue sign (<- Cornwallis George Allen Wing PSSRU CHSS – photo below). Follow the Cornwallis sign arrow and walk under
the building through a short ‘tunnel’ which brings you into a courtyard. Turn immediately right and the entrance door to
the George Allen Wing is straight ahead. Follow the signs to CHSS on the second floor. If you require The CHSS Knowledge
Management Centre, it is the second door on the left once through the double doors. The CHSS Administration Office is
straight ahead for all enquiries.
