Cosmopolitan Art
The city museums have several national and international art collections. MASP has paintings
by the Italian Raphael, Botticceli, Bellini and Ticiano, Delacroix, Monet, Manet, Degas,
Cézanne, Renoir, Van Gogh, Matisse, Toulouse-Lautrec, Modigliano and Chagall, of the Paris
School, and also the main names of the Brazilian arts. São Paulo is also the home of the
Museum of the Portuguese Language – the only one in the world- offering sensitive
experiences.
Brazilian Art
In the Art Gallery (Pinacoteca), next to Luz Garden, its collections provide 4,000 works by
Brazilian contemporary and XIX century artists. In Museum of Modern Art (MAM) you will find
works by Tarsila do Amaral, Cândido Emiliano Di Cavalcanti and Hércules Barsotti, and other
several masters providing a wonderful view of the recent Brazilian art production. Next to MAM,
the Biennial pavilion hosts one of the world top three biennial of arts.
Sacred Art and Friar Galvão
The Sacred Art Museum shows an impressive collection of 800 pieces from the century XVI
until today, with saint images, chandeliers and small chapels. This museum is located in Luz
Monastery, thought and opened by Friar Galvão, or Saint Antônio de Sant’Anna Galvão, first
Brazilian saint. His famous pills are given here. Luz Monastery is located in a rich area, full of
catholic churches and symbols – Santo Expedito church, São Bento Monastery and Sé
Cathedral - forming the latest tour offered by Turismetrô in São Paulo.
World Cuisine Capital
There is nothing more cosmopolite that food in São Paulo. The city makes your mouth water
with 12,500 restaurants with acknowledge chefs and star environments. At any time, you can
find German, Arabic, Armenian, Chinese, Korean, Scandinavian, Spanish, French, Greek,
Indian, Italian, Japanese, Jewish, Moroccan, Mexican, Portuguese, Thai and Russian

“balada” started here
São Paulo is for everybody. You can find nightclubs with Latin, electronic, rock, pop, Brazilian

Pinacoteca (Art Gallery) – designed by Ramos de Azevedo, one of the most important
inhabitants of São Paulo, who also designed the Municipal Theater and Casa das Rosas (Rose

You can find other attractions in surrounding cities. Almost 70 kilometers far from São Paulo,
the city of Santos offers beaches and one of the most important ports in Latin America. Right
beside Santos, the city of Guarujá receives lots of people from the São Paulo on the weekends
and holidays. The beaches on the northern coast of the state are the most attractive for tourists.
The most famous beaches are in São Sebastião, like Maresias, and Ubatuba, like Itamambuca
Ilhabela, a protected island, is only few minutes by ferry from São Sebastião. Another city full of
charm is Campos do Jordão, located in the mountains, where attractions are winter and
sophistication. Nightlife and exciting points in downtown during the winter, mainly between June
and August .
