Year 8 History Homework Project – ‘Exhibition on Renaissance’
Project Aim :







Fulston Manor are planning an exhibition on the Renaissance and as part of that you are
going to investigate some important people who were influential during that time
During the project you will investigate Scientists, Explorers and Artists and the last part of
the task is to make a model of an invention, a creation or masterpiece from one of your
chosen key people
Each task is listed below with details of what you need to do and who you are
investigating
You must NOT cut and paste information from the internet – you need to present the
information you research in your own words.
Your project must be clearly named and include your Teacher and Teaching Group
Make sure your work is stapled or put in a folder (No hard backed folders)
Models must be clearly labelled and photographed and a picture included in your
project or emailed to your Teacher
Task 1 – Explorers

TASK 4 – Who is your Winner?
(Spend no more than 30 minutes)
Give a certificate to the winner! Choose
which of the individuals from your
research you think made the greatest
impact. On your certificate explain the
impact they made. Compare directly
with the other candidates and explain
why their impact was greater than the
others. Link with other topics you have
studied.
TASK 5: Planning Your Model
(Spend no more than 50 minutes)
Choose 1 of the things linked to a person you have researched that you can make a model of e.g. a
map from 1 of the explorers, a model of something a scientist discovered/ invented, a model of a
piece of artwork by one of the artists.
Draw a basic plan of what you are going to make, label it and explain WHY you have chosen it.
(NOTE: This does NOT have to be the thing you think that made the biggest impact – IT CAN BE ANY
ACHIEVEMENT OF THE RENAISSANCE)
