Literature of the Asian Diaspora
Language and Identity in Asian North-American Literature
Fall 2016: MW 10:00 – 11:30; Instructor: SP Luo
Through the reading of a variety of literary texts, including fiction,
poetry, and drama, as well as multimedia work, this course examines
issues of identity, language, and culture in Asian-Canadian and AsianAmerican literature. It will concern itself with what constitutes Asian
North-American diasporic literature, its historical and social contexts, as
well as its narrative traditions and innovations.
