Mitchell High Band
January 2017 Itinerary update
Wednesday, February 15 - 2017
• Eat before buses arrive or pack a sack lunch
• 11:30 am Load Buses (We will try to get all the
luggage on bus TWO and all uniforms and
instruments under bus ONE) Please bring a small
suitcase. We will have a trailer available but we
would really prefer to leave it home. If we can leave
the trailer everyone will receive $15 cash and we
will make better time in route.
• 12:00 noon Depart for Orlando
• Rest stop south of Sioux City
• 4:45 pm To save time for dinner we will make a 30
minute combination rest /shopping stop at Walmart
Supercenter 3201 Manawa Center Dr. Council
Bluffs IA. There are restrooms in front and back of
the store.
• Drive through the night with rest stops as needed in
route.
Thursday, February 16
• At sun up a continental breakfast at a rest stop
provided
• Noon lunch stop
• Dinner stop
• 10:00 pm Road conditions, and your efficiency will
dictate our arrival time
• 10:00 pm (we till try to arrive before this time)
Check into our hotel:
Fairfield Inn Orlando Lake Buena Vista in
Marriott Village, Vineland Ave, Orlando, FL
• Lights out when you get checked in. Do yourself a
favor and sleep. We have a packed schedule ahead
of us.
Friday, February 17
• 7:00 am Breakfast buffet at our hotel
• 9:00 am Depart for Epcot Center.
• 10:00 am Arrive "Studio A" rehearsal room
located in a "backstage" area of Epcot.
• 10:30 am You're Instrumental Workshop. We
will work with a Disney clinician and their
sound staff to record an animation sound track
• After the workshop we will take buses to the
front parking lot so everyone will know where
the bus will load that evening. Rest of the day at
Epcot
• 9:00 am IllumiNations: Reflections of the
Earth. Find a place around the lake to watch the
show.
• 10:30 pm Bus departs for the hotel
Saturday, February 18
• 7:00 am Breakfast buffet at our hotel
• 8:05 am Buses depart, EVERYONE IS IN
UNIFORM
• 8:50 am We must arrive in the backstage area
• 9:50 am We march in the Magic Kingdom
Parade.
• After the parade, quickly change out of
uniforms. Please put your instrument and
uniform in it’s uniform bag under bus ONE for
the trip back to Mitchell. The buses will take us
to the front of the park so everyone will know
where to board the buses for departure at the
end of the day. We will take the boat to the park
entrance. (new Disney rule NO selfie sticks in
the parks)

• 9:00 pm Wishes Nightime Spectacular
• 10:30 pm Everyone back on buses and we depart for
the hotel
Sunday, February 19
• 6:30 Breakfast at hotel This morning you will have
the option of going to church or staying at the hotel
• The hotel is a 15 min walk from Mary Queen of the
Universe Catholic Church.
• 7:00 am Darrell will walk with everyone that would
like to go to the 7:30 service
• 10:00 am Buses will leave for Cocoa Beach
• 11:15 pm Arrival Coco Beach and Ron Jon Surf
Shop. Everyone will receive a 15% off coupon for
Ron Jon. We need to all go to the store before the
beach. This is important so we can use the Ron Jon
parking lot. We will be parked next to the beach.
There are changing areas and showers at Alan
Shepard Park on the beach. There are also many
options for lunch. Please have suntan lotion with
you.
• 2:15 pm Buses will depart for Hollywood Studios.
• 3:30 pm Arrive Hollywood Studios
• 7:30 pm Fantasmic Show
• 8:00 pm Park closes
• 8:30 pm Bus departs for the hotel
Tuesday, February 21
• At sun up a continental breakfast at a rest stop
provided
• 12:00 noon fast food lunch stop in route
• 5:00 pm Rest stop at a Super Walmart. You will
be able to buy a snack to eat on the bus until you
can have a late dinner when you arrive home
