Point System Contract - Southeastern Louisiana University

UPWARD BOUND/MATH-SCIENCE UPWARD BOUND
POINTS SYSTEM
ACADEMIC YEAR AND SUMMER SESSION
Each student will begin the academic year with 100 points total. In order to be CONSIDERED for
the annual Summer trip, students must attend at least 5 weeks of the Summer Program and
have 80 points and above. The number of students allowed on the Summer trip is contingent
upon the availability of program funds, so only the top students (based on points) may be
selected for the trip. Again, 80 points and above does not guarantee that you will be selected
for the trip. Students who are selected for the trip, but decide not to attend or cancels once
final payment arrangements have been made, will not be eligible for future trips. Students who
begin the UB/MSUB program in the Summer will not be eligible for the Summer trip. Students
who fall below 80 points will not attend the Summer trip and will not participate in the Bridge
program. Students who fall below 60 points MAY BE DISMISSED from the program at the
discretion of the UB/MSUB administrative staff.
Students will not receive any written warnings for program rule violations with the exception of those
given for improperly wearing or failure to wear their official UB/MSUB name tag. Students who lose
points during the last week of the Summer Program and/or during the summer trip will have those points
deducted in the upcoming academic year.
