Branches of Government Fact Flipbook
Your assignment is to make a Fact Flipbook about the three branches of
government. There will be four flaps to the flipbook. One will be your cover and
the others will tell about a branch of government. You will write facts about
each branch for both the national government and the state government.
Each flap is explained below:
1. Your top flap is the cover. This will contain the title, “Branches of
Government,” and your name as author must appear on this flap.
Anything else to add to its interest is up to you.
2. Your second flap will have the title “Executive.” The title is at the bottom
and only this will be seen until you fold up the flap. Under here, you will
need the following information for both the national government and state
government: the title of the person who runs this branch of government,
the name of the person who runs this branch, the length of term for this
person and the role (what is this person’s job) of this branch.
3. Your third flap will have the title “Legislative.” Again, this title is at the
bottom and when you open up this flap you should have the space divided
into four sections. The four sections should be National Senate, State
Senate, National House of Representatives, and State House of
Representatives. For the National Senate include the following: length of
term, number of senators from Indiana elected to the national government
and their role. For the National House of Representatives include the
following: length of term, number of representatives Indiana elects to the
national government and their role. For the State Senate, include length of
term, how many state senators we have and their role. For the State
House of Representatives include the following: length of term, number of
representatives we have in the State House of Representatives and their
role.
4. Your fourth flap will have the title “Judicial.” Under here, you will need the
following information for both the national government and state
government: highest court’s name, length of term for each judge, and who
selects the judges.
