About the Bear Brook Classic
State 9 Racing, Kenda Cup East and ROOT 66 are thrilled to have the Bear Brook
Classic back for a second go around for 2017. Thanks to everyone that came out
last year to make the BBC first year a huge sucess. This race will be the second stop for the Kenda Cup East circuit. Bear Brook
State Park, in Allenstown NH, offers a wide variety of trails for us to design a
seriously rad course. You will not be disappointed in the fun and excitement this race will bring.
There are over 30 miles of trails to enjoy in this beautiful state park. The park
can also be linked with FOMBA, in Manchester, and other networks through
snowmobile trails and endless double track. If you haven’t yet, the BB Classic
will get you coming back to enjoy the rest of the trails. After race refreshments
will be available by a local food truck.
All racers will be required to purchase a re-useable (for 2017) ROOT 66 race
plate, either before or on race day.

BEAR BROOK and STARTING POINT
The parking lot can be found at the following
GPS coordinates. 43° 9'40.19"N 71°23'48.46"W
To help guide to the parking lot
Take exit 11 off Route 93, north on Hackett Hill Rd, north on West River Rd. Turn
right onto Main St/College Park (crosses over Merrimack River). Turn left onto
Daniel Webster Hwy (Rte 3/Rt 28). In 2.5 miles turn right onto Rt 28/Pinewood
Rd. In 3.1 miles turn right onto Deerfield Rd. There is a sign at this turn for the
park. The lot is less than ½ mile up on the right. The park also has a pavilion for
grilling and beach for hanging out after all the racing is done.

CATEGORIES
The category you choose is based on your age, gender, and experience. The
categories are Pro/Open (elite), Cat 1 (expert), Cat 2(sport), and Cat 3 (novice).
Waves with same start time will start 1 minute apart.

Pro/Open – 3 laps. A USA cycling license is required. No one day licenses are
allowed per USA cycling policy. You need an annual license to participate in
this race.
Cat 1 – 2 laps. A USA cycling license is required. No one day licenses allowed
per USA cycling policy. You need an annual license to participate in this
race.
Cat 2 – 2 laps. A USA cycling one day or annual license is required.
Cat 3 – 1 lap. A USA cycling one day or annual license is required.
Fat bike – 2 laps. A USA cycling one day or annual license is required
Separate Kids Race (11 and under)
The racers will need to show their annual license, or purchase a one day USA
license also. A one day USA Cycling license is $10.
Categories will have mass start with separate waves for age groups, promoter
reserves the right to combine small fields
All the top three finishers will get medals. The elites will also get cash. Plus,
however much merchandise we can get we will give you guys! Fastest in class
(for both genders) will receive a handmade custom sweet bear trophy!

BEAR BROOK STATE PARK

Bear Brook State Park is a 10,000-acre preserve located in Allenstown, New
Hampshire and surrounding towns. It is one of New Hampshire's largest state
parks. Amenities at Bear Brook include camp sites, a picnic area, hiking trails,
swimming and fishing ponds, archery range, camp store, ball field, playground,
bathhouse, shelters, picnic tables, canoe & row boat rentals and a physical
fitness course. The park is home to the New Hampshire Snowmobile Museum,
Old Allenstown Meeting House, and the Richard Diehl Civilian Conservation
Corps Museum, which are located in historic buildings built by the CCC.
