(Matthew 25:34-40). This ministry is funded entirely by direct donations and is
currently running short on funds. If you can help, please write a check payable to

all may find meaning and purpose through Jesus Christ.
WELCOME TO ST. MATTHEW’S
Welcome friends in Christ! We are happy you have joined us in our worship today to celebrate the love of God in Jesus Christ. If you are visiting with us, please be so kind as to

proud to serve Fair Trade coffee through UMCOR’s Coffee Project.
Be thoughtful, be silent, for this is the house of God. Before the service speak with God,
during the service let God speak with you, after the service speak with one another.

MORNING PRAYER & THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy
kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give
us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
MISSION MOMENT/GOD’S TITHES & OUR OFFERINGS
“Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”
Grace Martin, Violin
*DOXOLOGY pg. 95 (United Methodist Hymnal )
Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below;
Praise him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
OFFERTORY PRAYER:
God of our joy and our sorrow, of our living and our dying: help
us to find a life that is full in the things that you would have for
us: hope, love, faith, service, holiness, compassion, and courage.
Let us not be so attached to life that we are afraid of change, or
transition, or what the future holds. As we offer to you this
morning a small portion of what you have entrusted to us, help
us to have hands that hold nothing of this world as tightly as we
hold on to you and your son Jesus our Savior. In his Holy name,
we pray. Amen.

FLOWERS & FOOD BASKETS IN WORSHIP: A food basket is given to the Glory of God and
in the name of Christ Jesus who blessed all the little children to come to me… and
come they did for our Vacation Bible School! An additional food basket is given in glory
and honor of God’s many blessings every day and in loving memory of Frankie Hull by
Bob Hull. Another two food baskets are given by the Contemporary Issues Sunday
School Class so that others may eat.
THANK YOU: I want to thank the many members of the congregation for their support
following my accident in April. Recovery has been slow but I was encouraged by your
many cards, phone call and prayers. Early on, Barbara and I truly relied on the food
delivered to us. It remains to be seen how much more I can recover with addition
physical therapy but I realize that this has been a team effort and I appreciate that very
much. Jim Williams

New Sermon Series Starts Today: Today, we will begin a new sermon series
called Words To Live By. During this series we will consider some of the basic
“words” of Christian life, words like: hope, love, faith, service, holiness, compassion, and
courage. We will not only try to understand what they mean for our lives today, we will
also be challenged to embody these “words” in daily life. Our goal is to live lives that
exemplify these essential characteristics of Christian discipleship. Please join us.
