YOUTH DEVELOPMENT–
Next Swim Lesson Session
September 5th– October 22nd

All swimmers age 3 and older must bring a swimsuit and towel
be prepared for a swim test during registration
SWIM LESSONS PRICING: Family Membership $20 / Youth Membership $40 / Non-Member $80
SHRIMP (6 MONTHS—36 MONTHS
WITH PARENTS)
A water adjustment class for children accompanied by a parent. Through the aid of an instructor,
parents guide their children through basic water
orientation skills and songs. Emphasis is placed on
water acclimation, fun and games.
GUPPY (6—14 YEARS)
Children learn to swim using basic strokes. They
are introduced to front and back crawls, breaststroke and elementary backstroke.
PIKE (3—5 YEARS)
Children must be at least 3 years old. Designed for
new swimmers, children try basic strokes and
kicking skills, with and without flotation devices.
Children work on getting faces fully in the water.
MINNOW (6—14 YEARS)
Children will refine and practice rotary breathing,
front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke and elementary
backstroke. Your child will also develop endurance
and form. Learn surface dives and underwater
swimming skills as well as more personal safety,
and rescue skills.
EEL (3—5 YEARS)
For children who are comfortable in the water
without flotation devices. Participants learn paddle stroke, front, back floats and more. Children
are not afraid to put their faces in water.
RAY / STARFISH (3—5 YEARS)
For children without flotation devices. Children review basic skills, build endurance, and learn to
tread water. Front and back crawls are refined.
POLLIWOG (6—14 YEARS)
Children must be at least 6 years old by the designated registration date. This class is designed for
school age children who are beginning their swimming experience. Participants learn basic strokes,
kicking skills and water safety.
FISH / FLYING FISH / SHARK (6—14 YEARS)
Students work to improve basic strokes. Turns and
the butterfly stroke are introduced. Participants
also focus on endurance while utilizing rhythmic
and rotary breathing.

RENTALS & SPLASH PARTIES
Pool Parties at the Y!
Host your next birthday party or special event at the Y, we have two pools available.
Pool rentals can also be combined with a party room, gym or interactive room rental.
Pool rentals are available on Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays. Contact our member services representatives for more information by calling 336-3500 x0. Excluding
the months of July and August.
Private Swim Lessons:
One-on-one swim lessons for adults or children. Contact the Aquatics Director to
schedule an appointment. Lessons are by appointment. Members $20/half hour NonMembers $40/half hour
GYM & SWIM (5—16 YEARS)
Gym and swim is a 7 week program designed for home-schooled children to interact
with their peers and stay active in their community. This program offers 45 minutes of
swimming with instruction and 45 minutes of instructed physical fitness gym activities. This fulfills all New York State education requirements for a physical education
class.
HEALTHY LIVING- AQUATICS
Deep Water Jogging
(Main Pool) Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 - 9:30 am
This class is for swimmers and non swimmers and its perfect for those with joint pain or for those recovering from an injury. Deep Water Jogging is
a great cardiovascular workout allowing participants to increase intensity to simulate actual running. It combines all over body toning with a no
impact aerobic exercise. Participants wear a floatation belt, which keeps your head above water and avoids your contact with the bottom of the
pool. The water provides resistance needed for strengthening all muscle groups in comfort. This class incorporates yoga stretching and core
strengthening. It is invigorating and relaxing.
Young at Heart
(Main Pool) Monday thru Friday 9:30-10:30 am
Young at Heart is a fun and slow paced method to get cardio exercise. Is recommended highly to participants that suffer from arthritis .This class is
specially designed to increase flexibility and improve your balance, joint stability, coordination, agility, muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance. Young at Heart allows you the ability to do daily activities without getting tired. Also, improve your sense of well-being and help you feel
good about yourself lessen feelings of anxiety or depression.
Aqua Zumba
(Main Pool ) Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-6:30pm, and Saturday 12:00-1:00pm
If your looking to get fit and have fun then make a real splash with Aqua Zumba. This class is perfect for those looking for low-impact, high-energy
aquatic exercise fun. Aqua Zumba blends the Zumba philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn’t miss. There is less impact
on your joints during an Aqua Zumba class so you can really let loose. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging
and helps tone your muscles. Try Aqua Zumba this summer because the water will wick away the sweat from your body and keep your body temperature lower. In the water you will keep your heart rate lower and build your lung capacity.
Tabata
(Main Pool) Tuesday and Thursday 6:30-7:15pm
Tabata is a high intensity interval training in the water that will improve your anaerobic energy system. You will see better results than with typical
cardio workouts that only target one or the other. Tabata is great for burning calories and getting into shape fast. Tabata is a cycle of very high
intensity exercise followed by a rest period. This is repeated for a intense workout. Aqua Tabata combines this high intensity interval training with
the properties of water results - in a fun yet effective workout to blast the calories!
Aqua Boot Camp
(Main Pool) Monday 6:30-7:30pm
Aqua Bootcamp has many elements including circuit training and cross training. This class is designed for lap swimmers and advance water-aerobics
participants with some swimming skills. You should be comfortable anywhere in the pool without a floatation device. The benefits of this class include high-intensity, anaerobic interval training, an increase in your core strength and endurance, and an opportunity to use of almost every muscle
in your body.
Water Waves
(Main Pool ) Thursday 8:30-9:30am
Water Waves is a low impact class. The class combines gentle aerobics using water barbells and music ranging from the 60’s to the 80’s. the music
is fun and gets participants feet tapping and spirits lifted. The class contains elements that will change our perceptions, sharpen our attention and
focus and even enhance our intelligence. Participants should be able to have fun and participate in a good workout.
Aquamotion
(Therapy Pool) Tuesday 12:00-1:00pm, Monday and Tuesday 6:30—7:30pm
This class is part of a total body workout. It is designed especially for adults with arthritis, fibromyalgia, pains, limited range of motion, knee and
hip issues, or strokes. The instructor will lead the class through gentle exercise, which increases flexibility and endurance. Make a commitment to
being fit for life with stretching the joints. This class will improve your flexibility.
Aqua Yoga
(Therapy Pool) Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10:45 am – 11:45 am
Aqua Yoga is a gentle and very low impact aquatic exercise, performing yoga poses in warm water is more relaxing than on land. Aqua Yoga class
involves stretching disciplines that have a positive impact on overall heart health. Stretching exercises are recommended to have cardiovascular
benefits and should be incorporated into your regular exercise. The thermal properties of water assist healing causing that the nerves at the surface of the skin to carry impulses deep into the body. This reaction is thought to lessen pain sensitivity, stimulate the immune system, increase
blood circulation, and leave you both physically and mentally relaxed.
Rhythm Stretch
(Therapy Pool) Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11:45-12:30
If your in your nifty fifty's or older join a lifestyle of aquatic wellness by attending the Rhythm Stretch class. The low impact class is about having
fun and socializing with an supplemental bonus of added flexibility. Equipment used is noodles, barbells, kickboards, and more. Relax and breath
deeply for a added mental boost. The class will develop your ability to stretch, improve your coordination and balance and give you chance to relax.
