Body Composition Improvement Incentive Earn $50 for reducing your body fat by just 3%. Definition: Body composition refers to the make up of lean tissue and fat tissue in the body. Lean tissue is composed of muscle, bone and organs. Fat tissue is composed of three different categories: essential fat, storage fat and non-essential fat. Essential and storage fat are both necessary for the body to function, while non-essential fat serves no real purpose. While many of us use the scale to determine whether we're losing weight, it doesn't always tell the whole story, specifically: How much fat you're losing and/or how much muscle you're gaining. Knowing your body fat percentage can give you a better idea of how much fat you really need to lose and, even better, whether you're making progress in your program...things your scale can't tell you. It's possible for your scale weight to remain the same, even as you slim down, especially if you're losing fat and gaining muscle. Get the most out of your body fat measurement by: Checking it once a month or once every three months instead of daily. Body fat doesn't vanish overnight and you may not see those small changes if you measure every day. - We measure every 3 months Having the same person measure you each time. - Must measure with Wasatch Wellness When using a bioelectrical impedance scale, be sure to measure under the same circumstances each time. Hydration, food intake and skin temperature can affect body fat measurements. Keep track of your numbers in a journal or calendar. How does it work? Our body fat scale uses bioelectrical impedance to measure your body fat versus lean body weight. It sends a mild electrical current through your feet to do the measurement. This scale displays weight, body fat, BMI, visceral fat, resting metabolism, skeletal muscle and it estimates the age of your body based on your numbers. Follow the body fat scales protocol to help you receive the most accurate reading possible. No food or large amounts of water or other drinks for 2 hours prior to taking the body fat measurement. (continue to drink normal amounts of fluids) Measure your body fat at the same time of day each time. Wait at least 3 hours after exercise. Wear the same light clothing each time. (Wearing shorts and fitted t-shirt makes measuring easier ) DO NOT USE IF YOU HAVE A PACE MAKER OR OTHER ELECTRICAL IMPLANTED DIVICES. We also recommend that you combine the use of a body fat scale with girth measurements to provide you with valuable information about the progress that you are making. We will measure your waist, hips, thighs, chest, and arms to provide you with useful numbers to know where you are releasing body fat from your physique.
