Soccer News, 10/23/2015
The Lakeland Soccer team concluded their season with a convincing 5-2 victory over rival Cuyahoga
Community College. The game did not start well for the Lakers as they spotted the Challengers with an early
2-0 lead. However, George Toe scored a brilliant goal with less than a minute to go in the half to make it 2-1
at the break. Early in the second half, Toe was at it again as he scored his second goal of the day
unassisted. From there, the Lakers would not look back as they scored three more unanswered goals. First,
Mark Champney scored a nice goal on an assist from Khadim Mbaye. Later, he would add a second goal in
the 75th minute on an assist from Toe. In between Champney's tallies, Gary Wise would score a pretty goal
on an assist from Yatafari Forde.
Lakeland will play host to the NJCAA region 12 Division I men's soccer tournament on 10/31-11/1. On
Saturday, game times are set for noon and 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game (around 2:15).
On Sunday, the championship game will be played at noon on Lakers field.
Soccer News, 10/19/2015
The Lakeland Soccer team had a difficult weekend as they lost to both Muskegon Community College and
Jackson College at home. The Lakers will finish out their season this Wednesday (10/21) as they play host
to rival Cuyahoga Community College. Lakeland Community College will also host the Division I men's
soccer Region 12 tournament on 10/31-11/1. The teams for this tournament are still to be determined. The
semi-finals are scheduled for 12 and 2 (30 minutes after game 1) on Saturday, 10/31, with the finals be
played at noon on Sunday, 11/1.
Soccer News, 10/9/2015
The Lakeland Soccer team has been off this past week and is getting ready to play host to Ancilla College
on Saturday (10/10) and Lake Michigan on Sunday (10/11). Both games are slated for a 1pm start. In their
most recent play, the Lakers travelled to Schoolcraft College to play the 15th ranked Ocelots. The Lakers
battled, but eventually lost 4-1. Next week, the soccer team will travel to Owens CC on Wednesday for a
4pm game against the Express.
Men's Soccer Alumni Game Set for August 16
KIRTLAND, Ohio (July 16, 2015) – Alumni of the Lakeland Community College men's soccer program are
invited to join the team and head coach Djuro Peric for the 2015 alumni game on Sunday, August 16 at 4:30
p.m.

Alumni should include their t-shirt size in their response.
