all!

identified a modification to improve their rocket's performance before launching again.

in room 715 to get more information and pick up a
permission slip. For members who already attended
the informational meeting, return your permission slip as soon as possible.
Attention 8th grade families who participated in the field trip
fundraiser:
8th grade field trip fundraiser pick-up day is Tuesday October 4th. Please
have a plan for pick-up at 2:45 and a way to keep your items frozen. Items
must be picked up then. We appreciate your support. If you have any
questions, please contact Mrs. Jill Cappa [email protected].
School Walk-In
Jefferson will be participating in the Unit 4 and
Nationwide school walk-in on October 6th. Parents/
guardians and students are encouraged to come and
show their support for public schools, teachers,
administrators, and staff. This could be in the form of
signs, t-shirts, buttons, or simply just by coming!
We will meet out front of Jefferson Middle School between 7:10 and 7:15. Parents and
guardians are encouraged then to come inside Jefferson with their student and enjoy coffee
and donuts compliments of the Jefferson PTA. This is a chance to interact with other parents
and show your support for public schools! Teachers, administrators, and staff will be going in
and out of the room as well, so this is a great time to meet and greet your students teachers if
you haven't yet!
We will kick off with a quick announcement from Mrs. Keene - President of the PTA, an
announcement from Mr. Guzman - Assistant Principal of Jefferson Middle School, and Jen
White - President of the CFT. After that, you are free to mingle with teachers, staff, and admin
present. We will end at 7:50 as classes start here at Jefferson.
***If you would like to spend some time in class with your student after the event to see how
they do or to see how school classes are ran, please feel free to do so. We ask that if you are
doing this you check in at the main office before walking to their class with them so we have
an accurate count of who is in the building. ***
Thank you very much for your participation and support and if you have any questions, please
direct them to Zachary Craven at [email protected].
Attention Parents—Search for a New Superintendent
On behalf of the Unit 4 Board of Education:
Champaign CUSD 4 Board of Education is conducting a search for a new
superintendent. The selection of a new superintendent is probably the
most important decision a board of education has to make; therefore, the
Board has hired the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) to assist in this process.
The Board of Education is seeking community input in the search process. The Board requests
that community members complete an online survey provided by the IASB, linked below. The
survey will stay open through October 19.
The results will be tallied and used by the Board and Screening Team to develop a brochure to
advertise the position.
Thank you for taking time to complete the survey.
