Year 6 SATs
Well done to our fabulous Year 6 who have had a tough week of SATs tests. All children
entered the tests so positively and the staff are proud of each and every one of them.
Here are two questions from the Level 3-5 SATs Maths paper to give you a flavour of
what Year 6 children had to answer:
Liam has five coins.
Three of the coins add up to 30p.
Three of the coins add up to 40p.
All five coins add up to £1.
What are the coins that Liam has?
A shop sells fruit.
Chen buys 2 apples and 3 bananas.
He pays £2.35
Megan buys 2 apples and 1 banana.
She pays £1.25
How much does one banana cost?
Year 6 Residential
Lucky Year 6 will be off on their residential next week to a PGL centre in East Sussex
called ‘Windmill House’. They will be enjoying a wide range of adventurous activities both
on the ground and up in the air with ropes! We hope you have a fabulous time.
Zoolab
Children in Year 5 are in for a treat on Tuesday, 19th May as Zoolab is visiting their
classes. As part of their Science curriculum on plants and animals, Year 5 will be able
to handle a variety of animals in a workshop and learn about the animals’ needs and
habitats from experts.
Family Assembly
Parents and carers of children in Mrs Blackman’s Year 1 class are warmly invited to
attend the Family Assembly on Thursday, 21st May at 9:10am. Year 1 children will be
working hard towards their assembly, so we would appreciate parents and carers
being as quiet as possible in the hall. Thank you for your support.
Own Clothes Day
As Friday, 22nd May is the last day of this half-term, children may wear their own
clothes to school that day. A 50p donation to FOMS would be much appreciated. Please
note it is a normal finish time for all children and all clubs will be running as normal.
