Do not turn the crank handle to hard to too fast, as this may damage the machine. 3. You must maintain proper tension on the yarn through the tension piece, otherwise you may drop a stitch. 4. When starting out, be sure that the yarn is fed through the notch in the feeder. 5. Do not use yarn that is textured or lumpy. Smooth yarn works best. 6. One line of a tube = 5 1/2 rotations of the handle. You can mark the top of one hook with a permanent marker (with adult supervision) to indicate a complete rotation. 7. As you turn the handle, pull out your knitted piece from underneath. Watch out for twisting. Thread the Knitting Machine for making a tube. Instructions for this are in the manual that came with your Knitting Machine. Leave excess yarn at the beginning and end of each tube, about 12” (30cm). Diagram A Start by making a multi-colored tube: Diagram C Diagram D Diagram E Diagram F 1. Load the machine as if you were making a tube and knit 12 rows (2"/5 cm) rows using pink eyelash yarn. This section will be your dolls hat. 2. It is helpful when counting rows to mark your first needle on the machine with a dot using a permanent marker (not included). (See Diagram A). 3. After you knit 12 rows, change yarn color to cream. To change colors, cut the pink yarn and tie on the cream yarn in a tight knot (See Diagram B).
