Summer Camps @ CMCS
Week 1: June 6 - 9: “BOARD GAME DESIGN”
This week will focus on the principles of game design and how games are not only fun
but can also be used for education and problem-solving. We will begin by playing and
analyzing popular board games to understand the components of successful game design.
After identifying a topic (FROM MINECRAFT to DINOSAURS, FASHION or DANCE the
possibilities are endless) campers will learn basic graphic and communication design
principles to create a board game using multiple materials.
Camp size is limited to 20 students so register early.
Week 1: June 6 – 9: “INDIAN FOOD AND CULTURE”
Get ready to explore the sights, sounds, and smells of India!
Each day we’ll learn
something new about the country and its tradition! We’ll prepare some Indian foods,
try on traditional clothes, and learn about the land and their culture.
Camp size is limited to 10 students so register early.
Week 2: June 13 – 16: “CREATIVE ART CAMP”
Do you have a favorite animal, character, city or sport? Campers will begin by selecting
a personal subject to explore this week of creative creation.
We will use multiple
mediums, from pastels, to paint and papier-mâché to clay, to produce artwork that
incorporates various styles and methods while exploring some of our favorite things.
Camp size is limited to 20 students so register early.
Week 3: June 20 – 23: “BOARD GAME DESIGN” PLEASE NOTE CHANGE
This week will focus on the principles of game design and how games are not only fun

Week 4: June 27 – 30: “SPY SCHOOL” -
ONLY 2 SPOTS REMAINING
Campers will enroll in specialized training to earn their spy credentials during this week
of TOP SECRET training. We are only able to share non-classified information here, but
be prepared for training missions that involve investigating fingerprints, cracking codes,
building a marshmallow shooter and conquering a mission impossible obstacle course
complete with water lasers.

Week 5: July 11 – 14: “FUN WITH FRENCH COOKING”
Petite dice, julienne, chop, what’s the difference? Come learn about cutting techniques
and much more as we prepare some traditional French foods and pastries.

Camps are held Monday-Thursday with a camp time from 9:00 – 2:00 daily. **see exceptions below
Arrivals begin at 8:45 AM. All campers shall bring a packed lunch and water bottle each day.
$140/week (Sibling $130) – Registration AFTER May 22nd
Pricing does not include the required supply fees as noted below.
Please complete registration form and return to the CMCS office along with the applicable CAMP SUPPLY FEE
(see below) to reserve your child’s spot. This fee is non-refundable, as supplies will be purchased in advance
of camp. The final camp fee is due 7 days prior to the first day of the camp session.
