How-To-Print Bonnie Marcus Collection Invitations

How-To-Print
Bonnie Marcus Collection Invitations
Following are helpful tips on how to set-up a document to print your invitations
at home. Please note, all ink-jet and laser printers vary slightly. We highly
recommend using top feeding printers that don’t require the paper to wrap
around a drum before coming out. (Many HP printers are like this)
1. MEASURE YOUR INVITATION
Measure your invitation’s width and height.
You will use these measurements to set-up a custom size document.

2. CREATE A CUSTOM PAGE
Open a Microsoft Word Document. Under the File menu, open the Page Setup pop-up
box. Next, click the Paper tab, enter the Width and Height of your invitation.
3. CREATE A TEXT AREA
After you have measured your invitation, you will need to measure your printable
text area. Starting with the top of your invitation, measure the distance from the top
edge of the paper to the beginning area of your text box. Next measure the bottom
distance, left distance and right distance. Under the menu File, open the Page Setup
pop-up box. Next, click the Margins tab, enter the calculations into the approriate
boxes. (see example below)

Margin 1”
Left Margin 3.25”

NOTE:
Even though the

extend further than
one inch you want
your text to look
centered, so you may
just need to adjust
your text to fit around

5. TYPESET YOUR INVITATION
Type your desired wording for the invitation. After you enter the text, under the
Format menu, select the Font option. Using different fonts, and text sizes you can
create the perfect look for your party.

6. TEST PRINT YOUR INVITATION
If you do not have extra invitations, we suggest making copies of your invitation, cut
the copy paper to the exact size of the invitation and use this as a test sheet. You may
need to print several test sheets and make adjustments to your text box before you
have the perfect set-up.
7. PRINT
Now that your invitation is ready to print, you will need to inform your printer of
the correct printer set-up. Every printer is different and will require different
setups. Some printers may require you to print from the manual paper tray, if so, you
will need to tell your printer in the print manager window to print to the manual
paper tray. Some printers may also require you to give specific sizes of the document
you are printing. Other printers, may have a single paper pass and may not require
any additional information. You may also want to change the Paper to “Cardstock”
or “envelope” as our cards are thick and you may have trouble if it is running on
a plain paper setting.
Best of luck with your event!
