CHALLENGE! Integrity No one was around. Little Gracie was chilling. She was kind of bummed, because her dad had been illing. They’d been barking at each other, every minute of the hour. She was feeling like a villain and her attitude was sour. She was on the steps, with her chin in both hands, when a guy walked by, a twenty floated from his pants. Gracie’s mouth, well, it fell agape, and she’d be twenty dollars richer for goodness sake. She walked to the street, stretched out her hand and grabbed it, but the man kept walking, he didn’t notice that she nabbed it. Gracie watched him fade, as the seconds flew by. She was battling inside, and did not know why. This was a fat sized bill, she could by some rad things; maybe a purse, or some glistening rings. She looked up and saw the man had started to turn. She had his twenty bucks and her conscience, felt the burn. Her momma once told her, when you don’t know what to do, you’ve got to listen to your heart, it’ll get you through. She was a statue staring, at the bill she got. She felt the right thing, and she broke into a trot. She caught up to this fellow, and said “Hey Maann! You dropped a twenty bill,” and she placed it in his hand. His eyes lit up. A smile spread across his face. So he granted her a hug. A tear followed the embrace. Gracie walked home, with her head to the sky. She felt good inside, and she knew why. Though no one was watching, she did the right thing. She was floating above ground like she’d sprouted some wings. She thought about decisions, how good they could feel, if you knew how to act, how to be the real deal. That was the day, she learned her lesson. If you show integrity, then you are not stressing. Integrity is more, than an honesty vacation. You must always do what’s right, no matter the situation. We all know the difference between right and wrong. The question is can everybody stay strong?
