Explorer Buncee

Explorer Buncee
Essential Questions Who were the men who first explored the area in what is presently known as New York State? What were the reasons why explorers came to New York State? What was their impact on this region? Introduction
Pull up your anchor and set sail on an adventure! During the Age of

Exploration, many men set out on the open sea to find fame, wealth, new
lands, and adventure. Some were successful, some not, and some lost their
lives.
You have been selected to help design a new line of trading cards to
represent these famous men who explored and discovered land that is
present-day New York State. Your job is to create the first ever Explorer
Trading Card using Buncee. These cards will look similar to baseball cards,
but instead of having batting averages, the cards will have facts about the
explorers and their major discoveries. Using resources provided by your
teacher, you will select the information that will be typed on your Buncee.
Good Luck! I look forward to seeing your final product.

Get organized!
Get a copy of the research sheet from your teacher to help you
gather important information about your explorer.
Use nonfiction books in the classroom and Internet links I have

provided to gather information and record these facts onto the
explorer worksheet.
You are to use the links listed under your explorer's name. Go to the Buncee site and begin creating. Your teacher will help
you through the beginning steps of this process. You will also have
a directions booklet to help you with your Buncee.
Check and double-check your information. Make sure you included
all of the requested information, wrote complete sentences, and
there are no errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Also, make sure your poster has the explorer's name toward the top
and the images with explorer information are organized
chronologically as you go down the page. Follow the format on the
directions sheet.
You must have a completed
Works Cited
section with all the links
for images, videos, and information sources.
Present your finished Buncee to your classmates.
