Algebra If-What Cards

12 if-what task cards, student recording
sheet & answer key
A few notes ...
The thing I love most about these cards are the multiple
concepts they cover. Students solve two problems to
come to the answer for the question asked as there is
a part one ("if") and part two ("what") to each card.
Integers, fractions, decimals, absolute value, order of
operations, powers, and square roots are a part of
the process using inverse operations to solve for the
variable.
The student recording sheet challenges students to
create two of their own problems in the same manner
(if/what). An answer key is also included.
{Uses}
I typically use these cards as a math center. I also have
a copy of them in my substitute folder for those
unexpected days I'm gone from the classroom. They are
also good for a spiral review during the year.
{Set-up}
A quick set-up for teachers as all you need to do is
print the cards and make copies of the recording
sheet! The cards will be more durable if printed on
card stock and laminated.
