Course Title: Periods of Architectural History
Session Title: Romanesque Period
Lesson Duration: 90 minutes
Performance Objective: Upon completion of this assignment, the student will be able to
recognize key architectural elements and examples of Romanesque architecture.

• Outline the background affecting the period.
• Isolate elements associated with Romanesque architecture.
• Identify famous Romanesque buildings.

Summary

Answer any questions the students may have from the cross word puzzle. Divide students back
into pairs. Ask students to come up with additional questions for the puzzle. Allow teams to
increase their grade by 10 points, awarding one point for each quality question and answer.
