Minutes of the 75th Annual General Meeting of Ware SC
Chairman’s opening remarks
Welcome to the 75th Annual General Meeting of Ware Swimming Club. Before we start the meeting,
I would like to point out that any questions will be discussed under Any Other Business at the end of
the meeting.
Thank you to the Committee for all their help and support over the last 12 months and to Keith Ian
for their continued financial support for the club, the staff at Fanshawe Pool, all those who have
helped on poolside and at galas including our officials, and of course, the fantastic coaching team
and young volunteers who give up so much of their time to the Club.
We’re delighted that following last year’s Club Championships, Graham Huggett agreed to join the
coaching team. Graham brings a wealth of experience and his knowledge and expertise are
invaluable on poolside and he has provided fantastic support for Claire and the coaching team.
2014 has been a good year for the club with a number of achievements including:


Victory in the Ware/Wulfrath Gala
9 new Club records:
o Faye Berry, U14 50m Backstroke
o Lewis Elliston, U16 100m freestyle
o Beck Grover, U16 100m backstroke and U17 100m backstroke
o Charles Sinclair, 200m Individual Medley
o Open Boys 4 x 25m freestyle relay (Emil Berki, Elliott Benson, Rye Grover,
Charles Sinclair)
o Open Boys 6 x 50m freestyle relay (Elliott Benson, Ant Collier, Lewis Elliston,
Rye Grover, Charles Sinclair and Alex Smith)
o Open Boys 4 x 50m Medley Relay (Ant Collier, Elliott Benson, Charles Sinclair
and Alex Smith)
o U13 Boys 4 x 25m freestyle relay (Matt Lloyd-Jones, Alex Murphy, Aidan
Thorne, Joshua Trapp)

1 new Championship Record
o Beck Grover, U17 100m backstroke

11 swimmers achieving County Times, many of them in the Club Championships

Minutes of the 74th Annual General Meeting

Rose Flowers nominated the minutes for approval and Julie Brindley approved the minutes.
Matters arising from the 74th Annual General Meeting

There were no outstanding matters from the 74th Annual General Meeting.
Committee Members Reports

CB stated that the reports have been published on the Club website and these were taken as read by
the Committee and those present.
Financial Report

The Treasurer’s report including the Accounts were published on the Club website and were
nominated for approval by Nel Watson and approved by John Clarke.
Club Constitution
No changes were proposed to the Club Constitution for 2014 to 2015. It was agreed that the Club
Championships would be licensed in 2015 following the success of the inaugural event in 2014.
Election of Chairman, Officers and Committee for 2014/2015

The Committee were elected en bloc as follows:

There being no further business, the meeting closed at 7.10pm
After the meeting had finished, Aysha Pettit came forward and offered to take on the role of Club Welfare
Officer. The Committee is delighted to appoint Aysha to this role and she will take over from Nel Watson
with immediate effect.
