At Glenbrooke, it is not necessary to wear a red
shirt, but try and wear something bright red to
indicate your support. The bright red items could
be a pin, earrings, bracelet, necklace, socks,
sweater, ribbon, slacks, etc., but it must be bright
red. (Genesis wears their uniform dark red shirts.)
Even the Glenbrooke staff and the kitchen staff
wear bright red on Fridays.

This Team Member works in
Dining Services; and because
this is the month to share “love”,
there is nothing more profound
than a person who can bake
bread and share it with the
masses. She bakes homemade
bread several times per week and
loads of her love goes into making it just perfect
for our residents! She loves to see the smiling faces
when someone truly is enjoying her bread! So take
a moment when you see Melissa Espinel around
the campus and let her know how much you enjoy

Just as a new year arrived, so did our “big bird”
family of Ospreys. Where have they been for
seven months? I have read that it is Mrs. Osprey
who returns first and that seemed correct. She first
flew to their “hang out tree” and later in the day
inspected the old nest, picked around the inside of
it, left again for a few days; but is back again.
They were our neighbors for 5 months last year,
successfully raising one young bird. She will lay 3
or 4 eggs. Ellie Betz and I thought she hatched 2 of
them last year; however, it seemed that only one
was around when they grew up and flew away.
Keep your eyes looking towards the Turkey Creek
Sanctuary across Briar Creek Boulevard. I will
keep you posted.

Dear Folks,
February is that time of year
that is all about LOVE! You
might find new romance in
your future, or find ways to
rekindle that old flame! Just
remember to tell those that you
love that they are important
to you, and they make a
difference in your life! I don’t
think we give out very many LOVE “bombs” a year.
We think our family and friends know that we care
about them; but we need to take some time and tell
them how their love and friendship expands our
lives! Get ready and tell them – and by the way – I
appreciate, love and adore each of you. You make
my life so filled with blessings it would be difficult
to describe. Just know that you make a difference
in my life, and I so appreciate each of you!
Our Programming theme for the month of February
is “Hunk of Burning Love”. Do you remember
when Elvis sang that song? There will be Elvis
themed activities throughout the month, so
watch your calendar for those things that you are
interested in doing. Being involved provides you
the opportunity to keep your body, mind, heart, and
spirit in great working condition. Remember if you
don’t use it, you lose it!
We will continue with our building and wing
luncheons. When you receive your invitation,
please mark your calendars so you can meet and
greet new residents and old friends!

Resident of the Month
The Resident of the Month for February 2014 has taken on a large job in
the Glenbrooke community! It is a lot of responsibility; but not without
its rewards and knowing that one person can make a big difference in
many lives. This person has been a stalwart caregiver to her husband
as she visits him in the Nursing Home several times per week. She is
a woman of her word and is resolute in her gift of time to her new job!
Please take a moment and congratulate Mary Gilbert as our Resident of
the Month for February 2014!
