Frequently Asked Questions When I order my jewelry with white or black Pearls, what size Pearls am I getting? Pearls are 6mm. How many Oysters do I open if I want to order Earrings? Earrings may be ordered when one Oyster is opened that produces twins, or by ordering them with preset white or black Pearls. My Customer has loose Pearls; can we accommodate her? Yes, loose Pearls may be put into Vantel Pearls cage jewelry. My Customer brought a special loose pearl with her to my Party and does not want to purchase a cage. Can we accommodate her? Yes, she may select a jewelry setting of her choice from our catalog for this Pearl, however she is paying the price shown in the catalog and she is eligible to open an Oyster. Remember, one Oyster will be deducted from your Oyster inventory. My Customer bought a cage; how can she get additional Pearls for it? We cannot accommodate her at this time. A Demonstrator who has loose Pearls in her personal inventory may choose to sell one to the Customer as a cash-and-carry sale. I have loose Pearls in my Oyster Inventory, how do I deplete this inventory of Pearls? If a Customer sees a Pearl that she absolutely loves in your loose Pearl inventory, enter this Pearl into Ollienet as if she were opening an Oyster. This will deplete your inventory by one Oyster. Loose Pearls may also be used as traders. If you have an inventory of loose Pearls take this as an opportunity to share with your Customers the variety of sizes, shapes and colors that they can expect when opening an Oyster. Can I order my jewelry set with pink Pearls? No, however there are pink Pearls in the Boutique Choices section of the catalog. What shade of black are the Black Custom Pearls? Black Pearls will vary. Please see Page 9 of the 2010-2011 Jewelry Catalog for an image of the varying shades of black that you can expect. I have Freshwater Pearls in my Oyster inventory. Can I use them? Yes, we have a selection of jewelry that will accept Freshwater Pearls. Please go to the Vantel Pearls website under Product Knowledge for a list of these jewelry items. Is there assistance for entering my Party Orders? Yes. In addition to training from your Sponsor, there is an “OllieNet Tutorial” located in the OllieNet section of the web site and in the Business Reference Guide. Where do I find company specials when processing an order on OllieNet? Click on the “specials” button when entering your orders. What portion of the Hostess Program are Demonstrators responsible for? Demonstrators have a commission deduction for the following: Hostess Free Oyster • $10.00 when Party Jewelry Sales are less than $200. $25 Booking Gift Certificate – • $5.00 each when redeemed How do I redeem Booking Certificate Credits for my Hostesses? Use item number BCERT and fill in the Booking Certificate Credit amount on the Invoice and submit to Vantel Pearls with a completed Booking Certificate. Refer to the “OllieNet Tutorial” for additional information. (Reminder: Booking Certificates must be redeemed within 4 months of the original Party date.) Since we have a new Booking Certificate with the item number BCERT, how do I redeem the certificates I currently have, and have already given to Hostesses? You will enter the item number BCERT with all Booking Certificates beginning 8/16/10 regardless of when they were achieved. Demonstrators will see a $5 payroll deduction for redemptions beginning 8/16/10. If I booked a Party before the new catalog, will I be charged the $5 fee when the Booking Certificate is redeemed? Yes, effective 8/16/10 all Booking Certificate redemptions will be charged the $5 fee. Am I still able to honor the 4 Party Booking Gift from the 2009-2010 Catalog? Hostesses have until 12/31/10 to qualify for and redeem the 4 Party Booking Gift. There will be no charge to the Demonstrator. Can Customers open Oysters without setting into a piece of jewelry at that time? No. This does not bring value to our Customers or to the Oyster Opening experience. Can a Customer Open an Oyster with the purchase of a gift certificate? No. The jewelry is priced with the Oyster/Pearl included. However, the recipient of the gift certificate may choose to open an Oyster when she orders jewelry at the point of redemption. Remember, the Gifts to Go program was discontinued. Can I still redeem $10 Gift Certificates even though they are no longer available to purchase? Yes. Use the same process in Ollienet as you have been using. Can I open an Oyster then trade it for a black or white Pearl? No. If you know for sure you want a black or white Pearl you would choose that option. If you know that you want a piece of jewelry with a black Pearl or a white Pearl, or if you want your Pearls to match, you should choose the black or white Pearl option. Should you decide to open an Oyster, the Pearl color will be a mystery and the Pearl cannot be exchanged or traded. Do I need to send in a Pearl Envelope when ordering a black, white Pearl or a Boutique Choice? No. You will only send in a Pearl Envelope when a Customer opens an Oyster and you are sending in a Pearl. When I order items with my Demonstrator Discount, are Pearls now included in the 40% off? Yes! Your discount will be taken from the catalog price, which is now inclusive of the Pearl(s). Can we still open an Oyster for craft shows etc., and if so what is the Demonstrator cost? Yes! You may open one Event Oyster per day. Use item #58 under Customer Ordering in OllieNet. The cost to you is $10 plus tax. Do I get credit for Hostess Half-Priced items? Yes! Hostess Half-Priced items count towards your TSV (total sales volume) and all Incentives. Hostess Half-Priced items are non-commissionable and do not count toward your CV (commissionable volume). Can Hostesses use the 10% - 20% Merchandise Credit on Half-Priced or Promotional items? No. Each Hostess Benefit is a separate transaction and may not be combined. If my Hostess does not take advantage of her Half-Priced item can she save them for a later time? No. All Hostess selections must be used at the time the Party is entered into OllieNet. When does the new qualification of $1800 to promote from New Recruit to Demonstrator take place? This qualification is retroactive to 1/1/10! So, when payroll is run on the first Wednesday of September (9/1/10) all Demonstrators with at least $1800 in sales (TSV) will notice their status change from Recruit to Demonstrator. This includes all Trip Qualifications and Promotions but will not change the results of any monthly contests. Has the Elegant Start Program changed? Yes, for all new recruits with a start of 8/1/10. Qualifications for Special 1 remain the same. To achieve Special 2, reach $2000 in TSV (Total Sales Volume) within 35 days of your Start Date. To achieve Special 3, reach $4,000 in TSV (Total Sales Volume) within your first 60 days to receive your choice of one of the jewelry bundles below. To achieve Special 4, share the Vantel Pearls Opportunity by sponsoring one or more new qualified* Demonstrators within the first 90 days of your Start Date. (Your new Recruit must qualify with $1,800 in TSV (Total Sales Volume) within 35 days.) Plus complete Specials 1, 2 and 3. *A qualified recruit refers to a new Demonstrator who has reached $1,800 in TSV. Freshwater Pearls in the Boutique Choices are vibrant and colorful; are they dyed? o No. They are color-infused through a high-tech process. The color is permanent. Does my Hostess receive Hostess Credits for a non-qualifying Party? o No. Hostesses begin to receive credits with qualifying Parties of $200+. My Hostess opened an Oyster, however her Party was non-qualifying (under $200), who pays for the Oyster? o You, the Demonstrator, pay $10 for the Hostess Oyster as a payroll deduction. What does my Hostess do with her free Pearl when her Party doesn't qualify? o You may encourage her to set that Pearl onto Jewelry and enter it as an individual order. This option means that you avoid the $10 fee. o Or, you may encourage her to purchase a cage with a black/white Pearl option and use her Hostess free Pearl as a flexible option to change Pearl color. In this scenario the Demonstrator will still pay the $10 fee. If my Hostess opts to set her Pearl into jewelry and I enter this as an individual order, will I still be charged the $10 fee for the Hostess Free Pearl? o No. HELPFUL HINT: Don't enter non-qualifying parties as Parties. Enter them as individual customer orders. This option means that you avoid the $10 fee, you earn the same commission, the sales count towards Incentives and Trips.
