The year 2015 will mark the first ever National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Potomac River
Professionals’ (PRP) STEMulate Your Body! 5K Run/Walk and Healthy Kids Day Race. This event will
be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 and will be hosted by the King George Family YMCA in King
George, Virginia. In partnering with the King George Family YMCA, we are seeking to empower
professionals and the community to become more active, fit, and healthy by “Engineering a Better
Health.”
Our primary goal is to promote a healthy lifestyle while using science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM) principles to assist in improving participant’s health and wellness. These principles
will demonstrate that applying STEM and adhering to a personalized program of physical activity
consistent with fitness goals can help gain long lasting health and cognitive benefits.
To increase awareness of our mission and to improve participation and support, the NSBE PRP chapter
would like to offer your business a great opportunity! Your sponsorship will help defray the cost of
organizing the event. Funds received from sponsorships will be used to purchase t-shirts, awards,
complimentary bags, and snacks for each race participant. Money received from sponsorships will also
enable us to continue our efforts to positively impact the community as well as stimulate and develop
children’s interest in the various STEM disciplines that ultimately carry out our organization’s mission.
Enclosed are different levels of sponsorship for the STEMulate Your Body! 5K Run/Walk and Healthy
Kids Day Race. Commitment is needed by March 1st 2015.
