Announcements
There were 19 children and 5 adults who came to the Center on November 21st and 22nd and helped make
Thanksgiving boxes and delivered them to 30 different families in the neighborhood. The list of families
came from families known to the Center as needing help, referrals from neighborhood residents and various
teachers at three different schools from Bellefontaine. Thanks to Family Video for donating 30 turkeys and
collecting food, Bellefontaine Elementary School and Bellefontaine Intermediate School for doing food
drives for canned and boxed foods for the Center. We were able to deliver 30 boxes to 30 families and helped
72 children and 51 adults with food for Thanksgiving.
On November 9th, the Center hosted its monthly birthday party and 19 children attended. We did several
games including, ping pong knockout, balloon relay, blindfold scavenger hunt and the Smartie relay. The kids
split into two teams and the winning team received extra points to be used for incentives. Members of the
winning team were: Dakota Lewis, Paige Ziegler, Tiarra Lewis, Drake Coral, Crissy Todd, Camden
Rayles, Katlyn Coral and Nick Saunders. After the games, everyone enjoyed cupcakes and snacks.
On November 18th, the Center hosted its monthly Parent Dinner and there were 23 children and 9 adults in
attendance. One of the neighborhood residents (Gina Ziegler) made her famous five pound pizzas. The kids
served the pizza and added dessert pizzas, chips and drinks to the meal. The kids set up for the dinner, served
their parents and cleaned up afterward. Thanks to Tiarra Lewis and Crissy Todd for all their help during the
dinner.
The Center partnered with members of the United Methodist Church of Bellefontaine to provide an Angel
Tree for Western Neighborhood children. Throughout the month of November, kids from the Center cut out
angels and wrote down their favorite toys that they would like to have for Christmas. The church put up a tree
with angels on them and church members selected an angel and purchased presents for that child. Forty one
children filled out angels and those presents will be distributed at our Christmas Party on the 20th.
The Center received 25 chicken BBQ meals from a Girl Scout troop on November 23rd to be distributed to children
and parents in the neighborhood. There were 6 children who came to the Center to help deliver boxes to 15 children
and 10 adults in the neighborhood. Thank you to Majestic Plastics for preparing the boxes.
