Tsunamis and storm surges are a threat to coastal
regions, particularly gulfs, bays, and estuaries. Flood
hazard results from river floods and torrential rain.
Drought is caused by major deviations from the normal
amounts of precipitation. Frost hazard depends on
elevation and latitude.
