Enriching Childhood Through Pf4!i.\ Recycled Content Value The LEED Green Building Rating System TM is a voluntary, consensus -based national standard for developing high- performance, sustainable buildings. The recycled content value of project materials is an important figure in your LEED project. Different percentages of both post and pre-consumer recycled material are required for different LEED credits, and the recycled content value of an assembly is determined by weight. This recycled fraction of the assembly is then multiplied by the cost of the assembly to determine recycled content value. Below is the recycled content value of the individual materials used by Game Time which can then be used to calculate the recycled content value of an entire project. This figure is especially important if applying for LEED MR (Materials & Resources) Credits. An example of applying this equation would be as follows. Consider if a projects material assembly had a total weight of 100 lbs. and 50 lbs. (or .50) of the projects material assembly was made of recycled materials. If the total cost of the material assembly for the project in question was $1,000, you would multiply the fraction of the assembly that constituted recycled content (.50) by the total cost of material assembly ($1,000) to attain the recycled content value of $500.
