Chemistry is a focused science course. This is an important year for students as they will be expected
to cover a lot of material. It is critical that students attend class every day and complete all course
assignments and homework on time.

The following materials need to be brought by the student
before September 1st:

1 Composition Notebook (100 Sheets/200 pages)
3 Glue Sticks
Students will start setting up their Science Journals on
Tuesday, September 1st. Please make sure you have the
supplies listed above before this date.
But, throughout the year, your student may be asked to
purchase additional supplies.



Empty Cereal Boxes of all sizes
Ziploc© baggies of all sizes
Empty water bottles
Students are expected to bring a pencil or pen, paper,
and iPad to class every day.

Grading Policy
1-2 Calendar Days Late Max 80%
3-4 Calendar Days Late Max 60%

Major Grades 40% (Tests, Projects, Reports, etc.)
Daily Grades 60% (Classroom assignments, Quizzes, Homework)
(Subject to change as per new grading policies)
Makeup work is available to all
students. Students are responsible for
asking teachers for the makeup work
upon returning to class. Students shall
receive credit for satisfactory makeup
work after an absence, but
may receive a zero for any test not
made up within the allotted time. Any
assignment not turned in within
the allotted time falls within the late
work guidelines, as per the EISD
Instruction Grading Guidelines.
Electronics Policy
Cell phones, other mobile devices (laptops, tablets,
notebooks, etc.), and other personal electronic devices
(MP3 players, iPods, video or audio recorders, DVD
players, cameras, etc.) must remain turned off during class
unless they are being used for approved instructional
purposes with the teacher’s permission.
If caught using electronics without permission, it will be
confiscated, as per the EHS handbook.
