How Have You Been Feeling Lately?
By: Kaliyah Thompson
Do you ever feel like you
don’t fit in? Like people don’t
care if you are even alive, or
even exist for the matter.
Well, I am here to help you
with your problems; to let you
know that, you do matter no
matter what people stay.
If you feel like you don’t matter then you're WRONG!
Think of all the people who
love you and how much they
would miss you if you were
gone? Imagine the people
you love, think of what could
happen if you were gone?
How would they act? They
WILL miss you and you
would miss them: you ARE
important!
at lunch that look at you
weird because of the food
you eat. Sick of people judging you because you hang
out with the “wrong people”.
Do you ever feel like people
don’t care?
Like when you try talking to
your friends and all they do is
ignore you? Or you try to tell
the teacher something and
all they do is ignore you.
When you have those people
An Interview With Mrs. Kimmons
By: Lily Sneed
Today I sat down and interviewed our
very own Mrs. Kimmons, the Ag
Teacher, and asked her multiple
questions.
Q: What is your favorite thing
about WMS?
Everyone seems so happy and willing to help others.
Q: What is your least favorite
thing about WMS?
I’m not in the building long enough to
really get to know people.
Q: Why did you decide to do a
class at the Middle School?
We started an Agriculture Class at
the Middle School last year to introduce our program to 8th graders-I'm
teaching the class this year due to
the scheduling of shop classes at
the high school that Mr. Edwards
teaches.
What is one Thing you Like Better
About WMS than WHS?
I am able to teach a lot of diverse
things in class and I am able to cover a wide range of subject areas.
What is one thing you like better
about WHS than WMS?
All of my supplies were there so I
feel more prepared when I teach
there.
Problems at WMS
By: Kaliyah Thompson
The question we at the WMS
PRESS asked was…
“What troubles have you had in
WMS? And how have you overcome those troubles?”
Judging: What if someone decides to have a lazy day? People might judge them because
they do not wear what they think
is cute or cool. People should
dress the way they want to and
not care what other people think.
#truth
Bullying: The person that was
interviewed is dealing with it
everyday, and they are trying to
overcome it by ignoring the bullies and sticking with their
friends. Their friends don’t care
about her flaws and they love
If you could let everyone know one thing about Agriculture
Exploration, what would it be?
It’s different-a nice change of pace from other classes and I think
its fun.
What Agriculture Classes do you offer at the High School?

her for who she is- not what people want her to be.
Acceptance: As a teenager, you want to be accepted
and be able to trust others. One girl overcame this
issue by knowing that she might not be the most popular and have the most friend, but she cares about the
friends that she does have and that is all that matters.
Fitting In: One guy we interviewed just wants to be
himself and not be like everyone else. He doesn’t care
if people accept him or if they don’t think he has the
nicest clothes. He cares about what he thinks of himself. And to him, that is all that matters.

Sports Athlete of the Week &
Best Moment of the Game
By: Dominic Hauck
There was a football game on Thursday (9/18/14). It
was in the 8th Grade A Game of the football game;
Triston Apple was playing in that game, when the
ball was hiked he came up and hit the opposing
player from the Republic team so hard that it
knocked his helmet off.
This is why we have named him the athlete of the
week.
The best moment of the game is when the 8th
Grade A team intercepted the football from the Republic’s Quarterback.

Tiger Pride: Football
“Jif or Gif”
By: Jackson Skaggs
How do you pronounce the word “Gif”? Personally, I like to pronounce it “jif”, but fellow students
here in WMS think otherwise.
The Willard Middle School Tigers
are always training very hard.
They spend their hours after
school training and practicing,
running and repeating routines.
The Willard Tigers devote large
fractions of their time just to
sports. They are learning life lessons such as endurance, discipline and pushing
through the hardest times. It brings us closer to
one another and presents the opportunity to
meet new friends and new coaches.
We expect to face some tough teams, players,
and choices throughout the whole season. We
are tempted to make bad decisions… but we
don’t. We refuse and show others what’s right.
We make good choices and we are proud of that.
we show discipline. We do that because we are
tigers. so when you see an athlete walking down
the hall, give ‘em a high five and tell them good
luck. Show them your pride. show them because
we want everyone to know we are true tigers.
Stay prideful Willard.

By: Eva Agcaoli
My good friend Katheryn (Kat) Prier
pronounces it “Gif”. She says “Gif”
because it stands for Graphic Interchange Format, and Graphic starts
with a G. Of course making a G
sound. Mrs. Maerke is on board with
Kathryn. She states that it is “Gif”
because the G makes a “Ga” sound,
making gif sound like “Gif”.
On my side of the corner we have Ethan Gambriel.
He thinks its pronounced “Jif” because when you
hear it you would think of “Jif” like the peanut butter,
which makes the word sound better. My personal
opinion is you call it “Jif” because Steve Wilhite ( the
creator of the gif) announced how it was pronounced on the big screen when he won a Webby
Award. The video ended up saying its pronounced
“Jif” not “Gif”.
I think that if the creator says its pronounced one
way, even if it is incorrect, you should pronounce it
that way. So the real question is, “How do you think
it’s pronounced: “Jif” or “Gif”?”
Book and Movie Reviews by Kat Prier
Movies: The Little Mermaid, a Disney classic! This movie is so good that even last school year WMS put on The Little
Mermaid Jr. (which was an amazing performance).
Here is how some people feel about the movie, “ I think it is a really good movie for little kids and families. You
can watch it at basically any age.” Says Eva Agcaoili.“ I personally was in the Little Mermaid Jr. last year and I never
knew singing for a sea-witch would be so life changing!.” - Ethan Gambriel joked.
This movie looks like it has left a big impact on people, lets see what other people think. “I personally love it, it’s
kind of like the girl is growing up and she wants to go out and I really like the message in this movie about it how you
have to go out and do what you want to do to learn from all your mistakes.”Laney Hammers states.
Overall, I think this is a good family movie and it helps you learn some important life lessons.
Books: The Fault in Our Stars is a heart-wrenching book by John Green. It involves teen love but in a different kind of
way. Personally I love this book and how it shows a little bit what it’s like losing someone you love if you didn’t know.
Eva Agcaoili says, “It made me feel really dumb and immature. Because if you see Hazel Grace she’s just so
mature about it most of the time. She just had a different outlook on life that could sometimes be a positive thing and
sometimes a negative thing.”
Julia Huggins adds, “ At first I thought it was really sad and boring but by the middle it was really easy to get into,
even if you don’t like romance stuff. It was easy to understand and easy to pull you in.”
In conclusion this book is very inspirational and moving and I recommend it to everyone.

By J.H. Burney
There are many things that Willard Tiger Pride does to help our community. Just remember our motto, “Tigers Give Back.” Each team has
very different contributions they will make to stand up to our slogan.
There is the Mentor team, Hunger team, Veterans team, Outdoor
team, and the Parks and Recreation team.
The Mentor team helps the elementary school. The Hunger team
helps the Willard Food Pantry. The Veterans team helps the Mt.
Vernon Veterans home. The Parks and Recreation helps the Willard
Parks and Recreation, and the Outdoor team helps the earth in different ways as well.
“To catch the

By the end of this year, the Tigers will have done a lot to help the community. The reason why we have our motto is to show our pride

Horoscope Frenzy
Predicting your fate, based on your date!
By: Ethan Gambriel
According to Wikipedia a horoscope is forecast of a person's future, typically including a connection of character and circumstances, based on the relative positions of the stars and planets at the time of that person's birth.
 Horoscopes are based on the alignment of planets.
 They originated in ancient Babylon.
Disclaimer: It seems as of some ‘NON-BELIEVERS” have requested that I print
a disclaimer. Well, I suppose that horoscopes are “Just for fun” as I would think
was implied. Have a nice day!

Dear Martin
WHO IS MARTIN?
T-I-G-E-R-S!
Hello my name is Martin ( that's an alias by the way).
If you're wondering what I’m doing, here's the answer:
What: When you write to me your problem
I will try to answer the best possible way I can.
Why: I've been where you are, not knowing what you’re
doing or not understanding what’s going on, but now I do and I’m here to help.
Here's my first letter:
Dear Martin,
I want to be in the school play but, there are a lot of people auditioning
and I don’t know if I will make it in! What should I do?
From, LMNOP
Dear LMNOP,
Who cares how many other people are auditioning for the play! All that
matters is that you are trying and doing your best. It’s just one play, there will
be others, plus there are also other things you can do besides acting. There is
speech and debate or choir if you want to perform. If you are scared just remember this, the judges are just people, and if you are really nervous imagine
them in their underwear (it makes things less stressful). I know you will do
great and if you get in, give ol’ Martin a shout out.
Sincerely, Martin
Please drop your letters to Martin in the “Dear Martin” locker by the office.

STUDENT INSPIRATION By Courtney Wisdom and Xaviera Conley
Everyone goes through struggles in life, but how we overcome it, is up to us. Luckily, we have peers to help.
Selected students in Willard Middle School have shared their obstacles and how they overcame it, in a
healthy way. Maybe these can help you with a current or future situation.
The Question: What is an obstacle that you have been through and how did you overcome?
Kaliyah Thomson “An obstacle that I had to face was people talking bad about me. I overcame it by realizing that they only
talk bad about me because I am doing something right.”
Jayce Burney’s family went through a divorce two years ago and to overcome he asked adults and peers for
help. “Advice and just having someone there.”
Ethan Gabriel - “I used to get overwhelmed and worried a lot, I now ask teachers for mercy.”
Kaliyah, Jayce, and Ethan have all overcome obstacles that many teens relate to. They all handled them in
healthy ways.
In school there is a lot of pressure to keep grades up. Sometimes, it is a challenge. Students have shared
their inspiration to keep their grades up. Maybe you can relate.
Question: What is your inspiration to keep your grades up?
Jackson Skaggs - “So that I can be in the A+ program in high school and get a two year scholarship to
OTC.”
Katheryn Prier says, “So that I can get into a good college, get a good job, and have a good future.”
Jordan Hamilton-“Since my brother got a full ride scholarship UOR, I want to follow in his footsteps.”
Most of these goals seem far off. I mean, we are only 12-15. But its never too early to have a plan for life. If
you don't start now, when will you?
Question: How do you deal with drama?
Xaviera Conley- “I try to stay away from groups of people who I know have a lot of drama.”
