Canadian Citizens require a valid passport (the Canadian Government recommends that passports are valid at least for the
duration of your travel). Groups are advised to obtain witnessed letters of consent for persons under 18 years of age. NonCanadians must check entry and transit requirements. Please notify the group leader at time of booking if you will be
traveling with a passport from another country so we can check requirements and advise you accordingly.
Day 1 – Wednesday, May 17

5:00pm - descend and depart for Times Square
- Time Square – its animated, digital advertisements help create an incredibly exciting vibe
contributing to times Square popularity (it is the only neighbourhood that actually requires
building owners to display illuminated signs!!). Times Square is also home or adjacent to many
of the Broadway theatres and cinemas. It is one of those places that make New York a city that
never sleeps – as many as one thousand people in an hour cross the pedestrian island that runs
between 45th and 46th Street where Broadway and 7th Avenue intersect.
7:00pm - meet as a group at Ellen’s Stardust Diner, and check-in for your group reservation
7:15pm - group dinner – you will enter this retro 1950s theme diner filled with nostalgic memorabilia.
This unique diner features singing waitresses, feel free to join in!
8:30pm - after dinner, call Kevin @ Group Photos (877-476-8774) and he will meet you at the TKTS traffic
island (Duffy Square) located on Broadway between 47th & 47th Street for your group photo

east-side shopping destination that offers a distinct mix of shops, restaurants, and cafes, as well
as retail for everyday living
1:00pm - meet as a group at the National September 11 Memorial (also known as the 9/11 Memorial)
and enjoy a self-guided visit with your chaperone (walking distance from South Street Seaport:

- the National September 11 Memorial - is the principal memorial and museum commemorating
the September 11 attacks of 2001, which killed nearly 3,000 people, and the World Trade
Center bombing of 1993, which killed six. The memorial is located at the World Trade Center
site, on the former location of the Twin Towers, which were destroyed during the attacks.
- if time permits, enjoy exploring local sites or shopping in chaperoned groups; suggested areas
to visit are:
- TKTS South Street Seaport - located at the corner of Front and John Streets, near the rear of the
Resnick/Prudential Building at 199 Water Street. All purchases are individual; location opens at
11am (closed Sunday’s). NOTE: Matinee tickets are only sold on the day before the
performance at TKTS South Street Seaport
- Historic Orchard Street District on the Lower East Side where you can purchase lunch at one of
the many deli’s or restaurants – suggest trying Katz’s Deli – NY largest and oldest (since 1888) –

West Side. Visit Strawberry Fields (a memorial for John Lennon), Belvedere Castle and
the beautiful Bethesda Terrace – a great place for a photo!

a series of boom-and-bust cycles, with significant ethnic shifts accompanying each bust

the site of Revolutionary War battles, the development market in Harlem plummeted
around 1850 and land was occupied by recent Irish immigrant squatters - Harlem
stretches from the East River west to the Hudson River between 159th Street where it
meets Washington Heights

- Chinatown - explore the Streets of Chinatown. Whether characterized by their stores and
restaurants or their unique size and shape, the streets of Chinatown provide a fascinating
cultural experience. Often overlooked, Chinatown is the site of a rich history that not only tells
the story of the Chinese-American experience, but also that of early Irish, Jewish and Italian
immigrants. Today, remnants of the neighborhood's European-American ancestry stand sideby-side with more recent Asian-inspired landmarks
- Brooklyn Bridge - enjoy a stroll across one of New York City’s best known attractions (the
footbridge begins at Center Street where it becomes Park Row on the Manhattan side). To cross
the whole bridge one way it will take approximately 35 minutes, enjoy the view!
- Grand Central Terminal – (beaux arts architecture) built in 1913, Grand Central has just
completed extensive renovations. From outside, note the ornamental clock; inside, look up 12
stories to the vibrant blue ceiling, on which the stars of the zodiac are traced in 24-karat gold.
- The High Line, an elevated park that was an abandoned freight-train track on the City's west
side, is a draw for tourists and locals alike. The new northernmost stretch curves westward
from 30th Street and Tenth Avenue, hooking over Twelfth Avenue and ending at 34th Street
and Eleventh Avenue. It offers Hudson River views and a fine vantage point to watch the
development of the City's newest mini-metropolis in the making, Hudson Yards
