COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA
LEGISLATIVE JOURNAL
TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 1991
SESSION OF 1991
175TH OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
The House convened at 11 a.m., e.s.t.
Referred to Committee on STATE GOVERNMENT,
January 15,1991.
No. 12
THE SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE
(IVAN ITKIN) PRESIDING
PRAYER
REV. CLYDE W. ROACH, Chaplain of the House of
Representatives, from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, offered the
following prayer:
Let us pray:
Almighty God, our Father, in this new year grant unto us
the capacity and ability to see clearly the opportunities that
await us. May we, like President Kennedy, not see things as
they are and ask why, but rather see things as they might be
and ask, why not?
Give us a clear vision of the great possibilities that await us
in the future, and then give us the determination and resolution to achieve greatly, no matter what the obstacles. May we
translate stumbling blocks into stepping-stones, for we realize
that in You, all things are possible if we only believe.
Again we beseech You to take charge of the situation in the
Persian Gulf, and vouchsafe Your mercies to everyone in that
region.
In Your dear name we pray. Amen.
