South
East
East MH students in Ms.
Lohrey and Mrs. Pohlman’s
classes took a trip to the
Pumpkin
Patch!
The
weather was perfect for
picking pumpkins, playing
games, and making crafts!
Things have gone batty at
East or at least in Mrs.
Smith's PE class. Students
move to their favorite
spooky music as they
crawl through the bat
cave, scoot through the
hayride, catch a spider,
leap frog or bounce a bat!
Lots of smiles this week in
PE class!
Jorge Samano, a third grader at
South, won the annual Fire Safety
Poster Contest. Jorge and his
teacher, Mrs. Miller were picked
up in a fire truck by Fairfield
firefighters. Jorge and Mrs. Miller
rode in the truck to the firehouse
where they were given a tour and
ate
a
tasty
breakfast.
Congratulations, Jorge!

West
Students in Mrs. Glass’ class are
working on the Rally Robin retell.
Here two girls use a retelling cube to
help them.
Central
The students were so excited to see
some of the wonderful West staff at
the Wild West Dance! It was some
boot stompin' fun!
A huge thank you to the Fairfield
Rotary Club for visiting West and
giving all of our 3rd grade students
new dictionaries! I think Mr. Otten
was most excited to see this sweet
3rd grader!
Freshman
High School
At the Freshman School, students in Ms.
Jessi Grimes' physical science classes
have been studying chemical bonding and
reactions. Students "bonded with a
buddy" to create compounds. Each
student was a different ion and found ions
of opposite charges to bond with.
Students then used their knowledge to
write a formula and name for their
substance.

painting and hair color. They could have
earned prizes such as candy, cookies, mini
footballs, bouncy balls, pencils and suckers.

at the first quarter FMS Quest

The cast of 'The Night Thoreau Spent In Jail' performed for the
AP Language classes and then had a phenomenal discussion
about the relationships between the play and what they had
learned in class. This was a great experience for the cast and
class members!
See page 5 for more drama news regarding performances of
“The Man Who Came to Dinner” this week.
The Fairfield High School Marching Band was awarded a "Superior" rating from every judge, the highest rating possible, at the
