Dear Parents,
Parent/ Teacher Meeting – Tuesday 7th February and Thursday 9th February 2017
As noted in last week’s newsletter, the Parent/ Teacher meetings will take place on Tuesday 7th February and
Thursday 9th February 2017 from 2.50 pm for all classes from 1st to 6th class. Junior and Senior Infant teachers may be
in a position to arrange meetings at an earlier time.
BT tickets to Young Scientist Exhibition
Many thanks to Ciaran Hynes (father of Ronan in Mr. Reynold’s 3 rd class) who donated free tickets for the BT Young
Scientist Exhibition. The boys from our Coderdojo group were delighted to receive the tickets.
Sports and Social Club – Commencing 9th March
Due to popular demand Ms. Keane and Ms. O’Malley will run a 5 week Sports and Social Club commencing on the 9 th
March. This course will be offered to 3rd, 4th and 5th classes. If you would like your son to be involved then please
contact Ms. Keane or Ms. O’Malley.
Third Class
Mr. Reynold’s 3rd class are putting their Roman projects together. Their new Reading Charts have created a positive
buzz in class. Ms. O’Malley’s class will be working on their ‘Quentin Blake’ inspired illustrations in the coming days.
Fourth Class
Space and the solar system is the order of the day in 4th class at the moment. The teachers are integrating art, English
and science to help explore all the planets and learn about Yuri Gagarin and Neil Armstrong.
Sport
Ms. O’Malley has started training her athletics team and is currently working with 3 rd and 4th class in the mornings. She
hopes to take 5th and 6th class in the coming days. Declan Jennings, from Westmanstown Gaels, will be taking Senior
Infants for Gaelic football for the next five weeks and David Moran, from Lucan Sars fields, will be coaching hurling to
2nd class. There are over 100 boys playing hurling each lunch break. Thanks to Mr. Clandillon, Mr. Dineen, Ms.
Teehan and Mr. Breen for volunteering their free time.

Accord Talk for 6th class parents in School hall between 8 and 9pm
