Jazz up your Valentine’s Day with a
couple of new traditions!
Spot the Hearts
The only supply you will need for this
game are some heart stickers. Before going
to bed on Feb. 13, place heart sticks all
over the house—on cereal boxes, on toothbrushes, on doors—any and everywhere
you can think of to place a sticker.
Other members of your family can then
count how many hearts they find on Valentine’s Day. A small prize can be offered for
the most found, the most difficult to find,
etc., or just play for fun!

Valentine’s Day Pancakes
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp butter, melted
5-6 medium-sized strawberries, sliced
Sprinkles
In a small bowl, mix together milk, egg
and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix
together flour, sugar, baking powder and
salt. Make a well in the flour mixture and
pour in the milk mixture. Mix well then
add the melted butter and continue stirring
until combined.
Heat a frying pan over medium-low
heat and butter or spray it with cooking
spray. Once hot, scoop 1/2 cup batter into
the pan. Immediately lay 3-4 strawberry
slices on each pancake, gently pressing each
one in. Sprinkle with sprinkles and let cook
for about 2 minutes or until golden brown,
flip to the other side and cook for another
1-2 minutes. To serve, place strawberryside up with a small pat of butter or powdered sugar..

activities, celebrate the Chinese New Year, and prepare for Dr.
Seuss’ birthday.
