YOUR GOAL: is to demonstrate your understanding of the unique adaptations made by
Native Americans in your assigned cultural region taking place between 1492 to 1607.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. POSTER TITLE - The NAME of your Native American Cultural Region is to be typed in a large,
easy to read FONT at the top of the page. YOU MUST CHANGE THIS from the TEMPLATE’S
original LETTERING OR FONT! You may keep the Font Size.
2. The TOP POSTER BOX must include the following:
a) SECTION TITLE – GEOGRAPHY,
A MINIMUM OF 6

1. Region’s Geography (at least two [2] photos that include landforms and
water forms of the region)
2. Climate (at least two [2] photos that include weather, seasons, storms, etc.)

Natural Resources - Two (2) photos of the region's Natural Resources – such
as plants, animals, freshwater sources, etc..
This is a total of 6 or more pictures. The photos in this box may have 1 to 5 words in their
captions such as: BUFFALO or STORM ON THE PLAINS or GRASSLANDS or etc..
3. In the next two POSTER BOXES you may CHOOSE Any TWO of the following CATEGORIES
which will ALSO be the SECTION TITLE.
One CATEGORY/SECTION TITLE per POSTER BOX.
a) FOOD SOURCES, or HOUSING/SHELTER STRUCTURES or
CLOTHING or
TOOLS.
b) Each of these two (2) boxes, other than the Geography box, is to have 5 or more
pictures with one or more short captions (Captions are to be 8 to 16 words.).
That’s a total of at least 10 photos in the bottom two sections and a total of 16
pictures for the entire project!
c) REMEMBER A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS! THIS IS A MUCH MORE
VISUAL PROJECT THAN VERBAL! Pictures should be enlarged to fill and dominate
each box. Pictures need to stand out. Use Artistic Symmetry arrangement.
d) Captions are to include how the Indians adapted to their environment. Ideas for
this are found in your textbook.
4. Make sure the CAPTIONS are in at least an 12 – 14 point font using ARIAL NARROW. Colors
of lettering should match the overall color scheme of your poster.

be earthy tones. * Frame all the TEXTBOXES and PHOTOS. Use colors and pictures that
EVOKE your region.

j. If you are absent one day and need extra time it is your responsibility to make plans
to stay after with Mrs. Sadlier to finish this assignment.
