Mom's Favorite: Help your co-workers make a splash on Mother's Day! Offer flowers, chocolates or spa packages in your
front lobby and profits will benefit your team!
TV Raffle: Work with a local retailer to donate or sell your team a TV at cost. Use a deck of cards and sell the cards for $20
each (52 chances). Use another deck of cards to pull out the winning card and the person that purchased the matching card
wins! If you have the TV donated, the total dollars raised would be $1,040!
7-Day Silent Auction: Secure silent auction items and have people bid on them throughout the week OR have one each day!
Someone Call a Doctor!: Host an Operation Game challenge. For $1 (or $5), let co-workers try their steady– or unsteady–
hand at the game Operation. Keep score or times on how quickly they can perform surgery and award the winner!
Casual for a Cause: Ask your employer to host a jeans day at work and your co-workers can pay for the chance to wear jeans
or dress casual.
Real Men Wear Red Dresses: Ask the men in your business to be a part of this challenge. Display tip jars with their photos
on the jar and people can vote with change to see what gentleman will were a red dress to work!
Leaping Leprechaun: This is the same concept as Real Men Wear Red Dresses, but with a festive spin to it! The top fundgetter must wear a leprechaun outfit to work.
Ugly Heart Contest: Very similar to the pink flamingo in your yard. Create an “ugly” heart that can be placed at someone’s
cubical, desk or locker. The person with the heart can pay the team captain to move it to someone else’s space.
I Do It Anyway!: Are you a part of an exercise group or wine tasting group? Ask if the group wouldn't mind dedicating one of
the events to your team by donating their membership fee for that event to your team!
T-shirt Sales: Create t-shirts with your company's logo on them or your team's motto and sell them for a profit to benefit your
team!
Chili Cook-Off: Have employees donate soups or chili and charge $5 for employees to eat and vote on their favorites! Or host
a taco bar fundraiser at a local establishment!
Cupcake Wars: Do you have creative bakers at work or in your network? Ask them to donate creative cupcake displays and
have attendees vote on the best display. Then sell the cupcakes for donations to your team!
Pie in the Face: Set up a day at work that employees can pay to throw a whipped cream pie at the face of their "favorite" administrator or manager!

Bowl-A-Thon: Work with a local bowling alley to have a bowl-a-thon to benefit your team!
Sabotage!: Compete against another Heart Walk team or between departments in your work place to see who can collect the
most pennies for Heart Walk. All silver and paper money in the penny jars count AGAINST the total number of pennies, so each
team tries to sabotage each other’s jars with bills and large coins. Award a prize to the team with the most pennies after a
month.

Online Challenge: Each week, feature your top donor on your Heart Walk web site! Challenge your friends via Facebook to be
the next photo on the front page of your site!
Round Up: Do you have a favorite store or restaurant? Or does your workplace have a cafeteria? Ask them to help you fundraise by asking their customers round up their bill with the change benefiting your team.
Rock Paper Scissors: Now this is creative! Host a Rock Paper Scissors contest with an entry fee. Let the participants settle
childhood scores while having fun.
May Day Pay Day: Have flowers for sale on May 1st and the profit benefits your team!
Cardiac Arrest: Create new laws in your office and arrest offenders on the spot. They will have to raise funds to make bail.
Offenses can be crazy like anyone wearing red or matching shoes, anyone late to work or not eating heart-healthy foods.
Sponsor Me! Team Shirts: Is your team creating shirts to wear at the Heart Walk? Ask businesses you frequent to sponsor
your team and you can add their logo to the back of your shirt!
Give Me 10%!: Restaurants across the Cedar Valley will help non-profits raise funds by hosting a night where 10% of the
night's proceeds are donated to your cause. In turn, the non-profit must help drive business to their establishment that night.
Matching Dollars: Look over the Matching Donations list and ask your friends that work at those companies to make a donation that will double!
Rolodex Roundabout: Who do you do business with personally and professionally? If you write significant checks for
services, ask those businesses to donate to your cause! Your Heart Walk web site has sample vendor letters!
Wishing Well Winner: Host a wishing well contest in your department. Have co-workers bring in quarters and shoot for a cup
at the bottom of the wishing well. The first person whose quarter makes it into the cup receives a prize.
Donate Your Earned Time! Ask your employer to consider allowing employees to cash in their earned time for Heart Walk
donations.
Christmas in April: Email or mail to everyone on your Christmas list that you are fundraising for the Heart Walk and you can’t
wait until December to give the gift of hope. Ask your friends and family members to think about making a donation to your team
so they can do their part to save a heart!
